Words of encouragement. We all desire them don't we?
5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
I was thinking it may be fun to have a blog that does nothing other than offer encouragement. Encouragement to whom you may ask. Encouragement to the person who has commented directly above you in this blog.
Say something nice. Mention something about their profile. Tell us something you never knew about that person that posted directly above you. You will have to be quick though, undoubtedly someone else is going to post about that person before you can!
Let's see how this goes!
Seeing that I originated this topic, and technically, there is no other commenter above me, I'll mention something that until recently I did not know about the One who is above us all - Jesus!
Jesus was anointed with the oil of gladness above all thy fellows!
1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
So, let the games begin!
Start by saying something you didn't know, or something encouraging about me and then check back to see what the next person said about you!
Silly? Maybe. Encouraging? I believe so and that is my intent!

I can honestly say that you are such an amazing man of God Michael. I got to know you on a more personal level through the cleanse/fast and I am so glad that I did. Valarie: I am so fortunate to have chosen you above me. So where do I begin. The blog that won me over was an ODE to Barnabas. You are an encourager yourself. I see how you bless others with your kind words. I know that you are a warrior and I remember how I got to remind you of the Warrior is a child song and it was precious those kind words you said to me! It was great! And, I remember you wanted to post my "Devil went to church today" and you asked permission wow! Why did you need to do that? Because you are sweet thoughtful and considerate. I love your blond jokes, it is nice to see someone laugh at themselves once and a while. You are a kept woman and I printed that blog out and am reminded how God has His hand on me each and every moment of my life. In a round about way you introduced me to LT and wow she has been a major blessing to me. Such a hungry student for the Word. I don't know Val you are just an all around happy and loving person who carries a large load but always has time for another. | Todd, you are "the man!" I love how your comments (and blogs of course) are full of God's word! Man, like you memorized half the bible or something. You've stepped up and assisted others materially on more than one occasion (shh), showing a sincere compassion and love for your brothers and sisters across the 'net, how inspiring! You've taken a risk here and there in helping others, and in revealing who you really are (details about the life you've lived) in order to minister to others who are hurting, placing your love for others above self ... encouraging and inspiring. Love you man!! (also in a nonsexual harassing way! lol) |

Wow. I can't believe it, I get this honor.
Mikeyou are the greatest exhorter I have met. You seem to always read into what someone writes and feel their pain, joys and sorrows. Then you reach across the screen and you encourage them give them wisdom or whatever is needed for the day! I am truly, as so many out there blessed to have even known your name. On this wild & wacky Internet you chose to accept me as a friend and I am truly blessed. Mike the love that you show for Laura gives me so much hope in how a man is supposed to love a woman. The way you love your children and talk about them makes me realize that there are men out there that do display fatherly representing love as the Father in heaven. The way you write encourages the sheep out here to think about things they probably would not normally think of in a given day. You are truly a blessing to MyChurch and it would not be the same without YOU. Thanks for being such a great friend to all of us.

Ahh...Michael...I sure am glad that you were the last person to post on this thread of encouragement...as being new...I only know a few here so far, and all much less then you!
While our friendship is yet to blossom, too, I do feel secure with you. From the theological and biblical soundness you display in your writings, to your casual demeanor and playfulness, there is something very alluring about you.
Plus...I like your Internet savvy too! I like all the widgets and clip art and code you find to include...it piques my interest! :-)'

Brother, you are a delight to us here on MyChurch, and that is an understatement. Through the many months I have been on this site I have seen your wisdom light the pages of numerous MyChurch family. I am blessed beyond measure to know you and pray one day to meet you or to meet you in heaven brother. I am astounded and stand amazed at your testimony and what our Living God will do. You simply are eloquent with the flow of your words in dripping morsels of wisdom. Nuggets of love follow your path brother as you are a living example to others.

Well bless you right back...what a source of encouragement your kind words are to me too, as I had no idea about the hardships of the conference! All I did was comment on your lovely children and dog! :=) But the invitation still stands while I'm here in FL! And as a matter of fact, bring a travel trailer, the kids and the dog, as I have hookups outside too, and 6 acres...your kids will love all my critters! Thank you again Lori, but all glory goes to God! He alone is worthy. I just want to be receptive to ministering to His people as one that seeks to become more like the image of Christ.
As for your departure time...fly high...fly safe, have fun, and know that you and your household are in my thoughts and prayers.
As for a visit...again, while the Lord still has me here (as my heart is to get my property sold to move back to where my family and kindred spirit is, in NM), you and yours are always welcome.
I've a lovely home in the country, live alone now that my mom has passed away, and tend to 2 dogs, 4 cats, 1 horse, 1 bird, 2 goats...and then the outside squirrels and birds too! I've plenty of room in my home and heart for visitors!

I just want to say, that even though we have just become friends in this venue...I look forward to getting to know you better. I have been to your profile and have read your testimony! I loved how you talk of the feelings you had while sitting in that church...and the grip that God had hold of you to sit and listen....He had you there and He wasn't going to let you go! Praise God! I am thankful that Michael talked up mychurch to you so you could get to know all the loving people who are in this fellowship...in the words of LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow) "But don't take my word for it!"

You are such an amazing woman. I have seen how you reach out to encourage everyone who crosses your path. Even for me personally, you have prayed, asked questions, followed up, and just expressed a genuine concern. That has never gone unnoticed. I thank you.
I really enjoyed going back to read your profile this morning. I learned quite a few things about that I never knew before. I admire your love for God, your husband, and your children. You obviously have some strong family values and that is highly commendable,
Thanks again for being such a good friend. But then again, you're related to Johnny Cash. Who would expect less!

I look forward to getting to know you too, as well as all the others that Michael has linked me with. If not for...Michael's encouragement, as you say, many of us wouldn't be here...what a living testimony for all of us huh??? And Michael...no big heads now as I'm sure that we all want you to take our compliments with a grain of salt! As, IF NOT FOR GOD...none of us would be here. To God be the glory alone!
