1:3 Blessed `be' the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly `places' in Christ: 1:4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love: 1:5 having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 1:6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved:

Ephesians 1:3-6

Here, it shows what God in Christ, has done. He has Blessed us in heavenly places, with spiritual blessing. Then the writer goes on to point out the fact,that God picked us before He made the the world. It is comforting to know that wherever we are and whatever we are doing that God is in control.
It might seem that life is out of control and we just can't handle it. but in those times we need to remember that we can give God praise in our struggles.
