6:17 As for the rich in this world, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on uncertain riches but on God who richly furnishes us with everything to enjoy. 6:18 They are to do good, to be rich in good deeds, liberal and generous, 6:19 thus laying up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of the life which is life indeed.
In John 10:10, Jesus says; "I came that you may have Life and Life abundantly". The Abundant Life has nothing to do with worldly riches, materials, or money. Quite to the contrary, these things often times are the encumbrances that choke The Spirit and keep us from the True blessings of Life Christ desires for us to possess and share. I believe that a man (woman) is not rich by what he possesses but one can dis-possess. Being rid of the things of this world allows us the freedom that is Christ Jesus.
Today, I pray to live by three axioms;
#1 You can take everything I have and I still have everything I need!
WHY? I have JESUS
#2 I don't have two pennies to my name to rub together and I am richer than I have ever been!
WHY? I have JESUS
#3 If The Lord never did another thing for me the rest of my life; I'd still owe Him the rest of my life!
WHY?? My life is not my own. I was bought at a price. JESUS paid it ALL and ask me for NOTHING. Nothing except the rest of my life, which until HE came into my heart was worth NOTHING. I pray today I can be of some value to My King, My Lord My Saviour, Jesus The Christ.
Do I walk confidently in these Truths every day?? No I succumb to Fear like anyone else. Ususally when I take focus off of JESUS, HIS TRUTHS, and the TRUTH of Who I Am in Christ Jesus and focus on myself.
So once again it's about Focus and focussing on THE TRUTH- JESUS CHRIST. Your comments and feedback are welcome.
