That says it all folks. When Obama was asked on Pastor Rick Warren's Saddleback Political Forum, who Obama would not have nominated for Supreme Court Justice, Obama said "Clarence Thomas". He then goes on to denigrate Thomas's intellect ("not a strong enough legal thinker or intellect"). Wow. By G-d this man has hubris. Have you read Clarence Thomas's, "My Grandfather's Son"? And then have you read Obama's Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance (pulp white hating trash). I find Obama's racism against Thomas (he calls everyone against him a racist so why can't I do the same?) appalling. The audience applauded (was that racist? I'm confused.) John Bolton, the intellectual's intellectual, has called Clarence Thomas "an outstanding Supreme Court Justice". And Scalia? Only the greatest living justice on the bench. lol So Obama applauds terrorists rights, eminent domain for private enterprise and leniency for child rapists. Good luck with that America. When the Pastor asked about his no vote on John Roberts, Obama stood behind it. I kid you not. When McCain was asked the same question, he said without hesitation Ginsberg, Souter, Beyer, and Stevens (bing, bang, boom) He added the two appointments Alito and Roberts are his recent favorites. Where these two men stand on the SCOTIS tells you everything about the direction of their presidency(s). Obama was slick, slick smooth, all style. McCain was all substance. Tough, hard hitting. No bullshit. McCain wiped the floor with him. When asked does evil exist and if so how would handle it? Ignore it, negotiate with it, confront it or defeat it Obama: verbose, wordy ..... he would confront it but also equivocated on what evil is. "We have to have some humility on the issue on the of confronting". Evil has been been committed in the pursuit of good. *sigh* McCain: "DEFEAT IT" huge applause. McCain went on to describe Radical Islam as the greatest threat of the 21at century. He also promised most forcefully that he would capture and kill Osama Bin Laden. He said he would pursue bin Laden "to the gates of Hell," Gotta love that. Obama equivocated and talk around a lot of issues. McCain's answers were straight, direct, and decisive. Obama's most important advisers: Michelle (the "proud" wife, the grandmother "a typical white person", and then a bumch of politicians - Ted Kennedy, Nunn, Biden et al) McCain's most important advisers: Gen. David Petreaus, head of US troops in Iraq; US Rep. and veteran civil rights leader John Lewis, D-Ga.; and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, a top adviser to his campaign, "It's one of these great economic success stories". Question: Should better teachers get more pay? Obama: There should be a set up Let me put it this way for the grrrrrrls out there. Obama is the guy you date. Smooth, suave, takes you for a ride. Full-of-shitnik. McCain is the man you marry. Solid, plain talking, earnest, masculine. Can you dig it? I thought tonight's feature should reflect the core values and "spirit" of the upcoming Democrat National Convention also known as 'RECREATE '68!" Such a lovely party. Tonight's feature: REEFER MADNESS heh Nidra Poller, American expat living in not so gay Paree, weighs in on the European's view of Russia's invasion into Georgia. It is all so ... .inconvenient it seems. *sigh* (/sarc tag off) How does Poller live in that morally bankrupt hell hole? (Photo placard reads: " Europe Wake Up") DIVINE REALITY Paris 14 August 2008 Nidra Poller The last time breaking news looked like a movie was 9/11. That should be a tipoff. The mega-apocalypse WTC film was a real jihad attack on U.S. soil and Russian tanks rumbling into Georgia is the intrusion of naked reality in a presidential campaign that pits a lithe young Democrat floating on a cloud of mythology against a grizzly veteran whose wings were clipped in a real war. The deceivingly small-scale Russo-Georgian conflict, supposedly resolved by exquisite European diplomacy, reminds us that a sudden outburst of military brutality can threaten the integrity of a sovereign nation in the space of a few short days. It will come as no surprise to learn that near unanimous public opinion in France blames the uppity Georgian president Sakaashvili for foolishly provoking a big, strong, heavily armed bully who has no scruples about striking back 100 to 1. French media?customarily hostile to the government-- looked on with benign neutrality as Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner went into peacemaking action, followed by President Sarkozy's one-day negotiation of a theoretical cease fire agreement. French officials and commentators studiously refrained from casting blame on Russia and, paradoxically, dismissed President Bush as a lame duck sitting on the sidelines. Newscasts in the opening days of the conflict were deliberately confusing. Tanks and soldiers were not identified, burning buildings were not located, early Russian claims of 2,000 casualties in Southern Ossetia were indiscriminately relayed, separatist claims of the two disputed regions were taken at face value. However, as the violence intensifies and Russian forces display utter disregard for the terms of the cease fire, reports from French journalists on the ground, visibly shocked by what they are seeing, have become more precise. Though the French president intervened in his role as acting president of the EU, the East-West fissure immediately widened, with former Soviet satellites insisting on unambiguous recognition of Georgia's territorial integrity. The question is what can Europeans?united or divided?do about it? Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says the world can forget about Georgia's territorial integrity. The French, absorbed by August vacations and inflated hopes for Olympic medals, would prefer to forget about Georgia altogether. Scenes of distressed refugees lugging mattresses were upstaged by the tears of former Olympic swimming champion Laure Manadou--a has-been at the age of 21--and the joys of gold medalists Steeve Guenot and Alain Bernard. Prestigious print media, busy raking "Micha" over the coals for his ill-fated, impulsive adventure, have shown no interest in geopolitical analysis of the conflict. There is nothing comparable to Melik Kaylan's incisive exposé of Georgia 's strategic importance as a vital node on the East-West North-South axis ( "Welcome Back to the Great Game" Wall Street Journal ) The outbreak of old-fashioned war, just weeks after Barack Hussein Obama made a whirlwind foreign tour to show he knows his way around, clarifies the hope he inspires in European voters, who would give him a dictator's +80% score. They are dying to replace the detested Bush with this kinder, more humane, articulate emblem of diversity who will bring America back into the club of urbane civilized nations epitomized by Europe. When know-it-all Europeans are finally called upon to take leadership in dealing with troubles in their own backyard, all they have to offer is one-size-fits-all negotiations: nobody is to blame, both armies should return to their previous positions, international peacekeepers will move in, and hopefully the whole thing will slip back into the shadows. This is the kinder more humane approach we are invited to adopt. It is based on an appealing bookish worldview that arranges messy reality into a static three-dimensional text in which the outcome of every action is totally obvious because it can be read on the following page. In the imaginary world of peace campers, hindsight is foresight. No threat is real unless it has already materialized?Saddam Hussein's Iraq in 2003, Ahmadinejad's Iran today?and once it does materialize it becomes the fault of George W. Bush and the Zionists. George W. Bush was supposed to know in advance about 9/11 but no one told us last month to beware of Russian tanks on the make. Waving Tibetan flags is a lot easier than getting involved in a mess in the Caucasus. While Georgian civilians cry their hearts out the Dalai Lama tours French pagodas dispensing Buddhist teachings and reminding the world of human rights violations in Tibet. His visit is exploited by lightweights as a water pistol to spit in China's eye and a sash to beat the French president. Sarkozy has been treated as an unscrupulous coward because he didn't boycott the opening ceremony of the evil Chinese Olympics and now, to avoid offending the unforgiveable Chinese, he is not meeting with the saintly monk. Would anyone dream of doing a hatchet job on the old bonze? In Le Monde for example? Would a snooty journalist ask why the old spiritual pinup is pulling at the sleeve of China's kimono right smack in the middle of the Beijing Olympics? What could he expect but more repression? You don't anger the Chinese dragon unless you've got a magic sword in your belt! Above and beyond the choice of a president, American voters will be choosing between the illusion of international harmony ?if only we all talk and listen to each other-- and the reality of hostile powers that must be met with military force. Europe, especially France, has been a standing reproach to the American use of military might. And the Democratic Party has used this European scolding as leverage. Today we have a graphic illustration of the world as it is and the results that can be expected from dreaming it out of reality. How many Americans know that when Obama had his bloviating screed "The Audacity of Hope" was translated into Indonesian - the title went from "The Audacity of Hope" to "Jihad: From Jakarta To The Whitehouse". The man is dishonest about his Islamic leanings. Check this our from An American expat Living in Indonesia: Jihad: From Jakarta To The Whitehouse
When I first saw the recently released Indonesian translation of Barack Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming The American Dream", over here in Southeast Asia I was completely taken aback not only by the violent imagery in new title of the book, "Menerjang Harapan: Dari Jakarta Menuju Gedung Putih", but by the fact that it was not really a translation at all, but rather a completely different title than the original book. A correct translation of the title of Obama's book would have been "Keberanian Harapan: Pemikiran Untuk Meraih Kembali Impian America" which translates into "Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming The American Dream". However, the title for the Indonesian translation of Barack Obama's book is "Menerjang Harapan: Dari Jakarta Menuju Gedung Putih" which translates into "Assault Hope: From Jakarta to the White House". [...] Why would the publishers drastically change the title of the book for the Indonesian translation and make use of such figurative language? Your guess is as good as mine, but it would seem that Barack Obama is quite interested with promoting himself in Southeast Asia as a crusader for the cause of Indonesia's Muslims.
Read it all .......most disturbing. Mairi reminded me of Obama's latest marketing schema and how the folks would be manipulated this week. The results are hysterical. Wonder has this is being reported to the FEC? Has the IRS been told? If you make a donation of $5 or more between now and midnight on July 31st, you could be one of 10 supporters chosen to fly to Denver and spend two days and nights at the convention, meet Barack backstage, and watch his acceptance speech in person.
CHICAGO ? Today, the Obama campaign announced the full slate of ten supporters selected to be "Backstage with Barack" at the Democratic National Convention next week. The ten voters selected for backstage access for Obama's speech next Thursday represent the diversity of Obama supporters and come from all across the country. The ten supporters were selected from ten different states, and each will be able to bring one guest. The supporters will receive airfare, accommodations, and will attend two days of convention activities -- including a private meeting with Senator Obama before his historic speech at Invesco Field in Denver on Thursday, August 28th. "Senator Obama is focused on opening up the convention, his acceptance speech and the democratic process to more people than ever before. Supporters are responsible for building this movement and for bringing this campaign so far -- and Barack looks forward to sharing this moment with them," said campaign manager David Plouffe.
Is there nothing about Obambi that's is not staged, calculated and manipulative. First a little backstory from Israpundit: (hat tip Cathy) Despite at least one (and possibly more) complaints from Minnesota law enforcement agencies, the Obama campaign is still circulating E-mails that solicit donations in exchange to win an expenses-paid trip to the Democratic National Convention. Were it not for the very fine print disclaimers in the E-mails and on the donation page itself, this would very likely constitute an illegal lottery. In other words, the Obama campaign is doing the absolute minimum it thinks it needs to do to stay out of actual trouble with the law. In addition, a video by Barack Obama and an E-mail from Michelle Obama are designed to deceive supporters into thinking that they have to contribute money for a chance to win. As reported by WorldNet Daily, the Obama campaign faced the prospect of legal trouble in Minnesota and possibly other states for running an arguably illegal lottery: donate money to Obama's campaign (payment of consideration) in exchange for a chance (element of chance) to win an expenses-paid trip to the Democratic National Convention (prize).
Take a look at the winners. First up an Eskimo beauty contestant: Holly Stebing - Anchorage, AK Holly Stebing is an Inupiaq Eskimo from Anchorage, Alaska. She is passionate about increasing Native American participation in government and has been active in registering community members in Anchorage and throughout the state.
James T. Fondriest - Massillon, OH Massillon, Ohio native James T. Fondriest says that he still identifies as a Republican, but is supporting Barack Obama for President because he "finally feels like America has found a leader it can look up to and trust." As a college student at The Ohio State University, Fondriest campaigned for George W. Bush in 2004, but after four-years of discontent and a deep desire to change America for the better, he is supporting Obama. Today, Fondriest is a law school student and is deeply concerned about fiscal responsibility and America's standing overseas. He says that Sen. Obama has inspired him to believe in politics again and, most importantly, the power of the ordinary citizen. An evangelical Christian who gave money to Mike Huckabee might not be exactly who the Obama campaign initially wanted filling the seats of Invesco Field later this month for the Democratic National Convention's acceptance speech. But now they're welcoming Eric Melder with open arms -- and a ticket backstage Eric Melder - PA Eric Melder is a retired YMCA Director, married with three sons and seven grandchildren, who has worked as a counselor to troubled young men ? helping them overcome difficult circumstances so they can realize their great potential. As a Sunday School teacher and member of the Rotary club, Eric is dedicated to his community. Melder says he doesn't always vote for Democrats, and originally was a supporter of Mike Huckabee before coming to enthusiastically support Barack Obama.
Melder's fourth $25 donation to Obama came upon an e-mail request from David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager, and with a challenge -- write a 100-word essay on why you're supporting Obama and have the chance to meet Obama backstage. An essay? Barb Sackman - Fallon, MT Barb Sackman is teacher and a proud farmwife. Her husband raises wheat and fodder for cattle. Barb understands firsthand how rising fuel costs have hurt farming communities. Barb is active in her local community church and believes that bio-fuels and renewable energies will help invigorate her small town of 150 people. Barb likes Barack Obama because "he genuinely cares about people like me."
Kayla Whitaker - Fargo, ND Kayla Whitaker, 20, of Fargo, North Dakota, first became interested in politics last November when she learned about Barack Obama. An Evangelical Christian, Kayla was interested in learning more about Senator Obama's faith, and watched Obama's "Call to Renewal" speech about religion and politics on the website. Marsha Shearer- The Villages, FL A retired school principal, Marsha Shearer lives in a majority-Republican retirement community in Florida. She has been interested and involved in political campaigns before but has been an active volunteer for the Barack Obama campaign since February of this year. She supports Senator Obama because, " He represents something above and beyond. He has a global view that is unique and his own personal biography has allowed him to see beyond short-term goals." She will bring her granddaughter, a college student, to the convention to witness this historic speech. Lenny Julius- Emerald Isle, NC Lenny Julius is a 67 year old Vietnam War veteran who served with John McCain and supported him in 2000. Now, he says, "Senator McCain has become a strong supporter of the Bush policies both domestic and foreign." Although Julius served with McCain in the Navy, he believes Barack Obama is the change we need for America. Trinace Johnson- Richmond, VA Trinace Johnson is a disabled veteran working as a civilian for the Army. As the relative of Elizabeth Eckford, one of the "Little Rock 9," Johnson says she knows the "power of the few and the necessity for change." She became active with the Barack Obama campaign after seeing her precinct run out of ballots during the primary election ? she wants to make sure the election process "goes right" in November. John Volkmar- Boulder, CO John Volkmar, an Iraq War veteran, is now a graduate student at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After almost ten years of service and two tours in Iraq, John left the Army to serve the country in other ways, including working to develop an effective national energy policy. John is currently taking classes towards his MBA, so that he will be able to help stop the influence of special interests in Washington and change the relationship between our country's dependence on foreign oil and our flawed foreign policy approach.
The man is all sublimal seduction. All style and mindf**k, no substance. Thanks to Cathy who researched the winners for Atlas. More Recent Articles | |
