Our Biblical answer is written in 1 Timothy 6:3-5:
"If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain."
From such withdraw yourself."
God's Word confirms in may places that wealth is not a sin E.g.: the apostles were not poor men; the Ethiopian eunuch had a "driver"; Simon a Cyrerian (who bore the cross for Jesus in His last hour) was a "merchant". The pursuit of wealth becomes an idol (that has caused so many "Christians"to sin) when it is the objective over the purpose of "holiness" which is of the "whole counsel of God" - as so many, many church leaders have been proclaiming as they have compromised The Word of Truth in favor of a "social gospel".
Now, Jesus is calling all to repentance - to the His complete Godpel.
In Jesus' love and service, Brother Patrick
