1:14 but each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. 1:15Then the lust, when it hath conceived, beareth sin: and the sin, when it is fullgrown, bringeth forth death. 1:16 Be not deceived, my beloved brethren.
Oh, how we are like those mosquitos drawn to the light! Like a moth to the flame is the person who follows his own desires without thinking of the consequences that will follow. The devil is crafty, and he is subtle, he appears as an angel of light deceiving those who will let him. So that we don't get "zapped" like the mosquito let us let the word of God dwell in us richly and hide His word in our heart so that we do not sin. Put on the whole armor of God that we might be able to stand against the attacks of the devil. Be wise! be sober! Be alert! Watch out, for the enemy never rests and is always seeking those he can devour. RUN FROM THE LIGHT! DON'T LOOK AT THE LIGHT! For the wages of sin is death.
Mike: It is from a "Bug's Life" your kids know the movie I am sure. I am an expert on all kids movies made in the last 16 years. We are zapp proof if we use the shield of faith. :)
Patti; I am glad you hopped on by and burroughed into this.
Jay: It is a sad reality even with all the warnings we still are drawn in!
Ok, gotta tell ya why I'm gigglin'. We were in Georgia on business last year....for two weeks, living in a hotel. So, we got real close to the housekeeping staff. One Saturday night, they were getting off work and Ken told them not to get into any trouble. One sweet lady piped up and said " ohhhhhhhhhh no, I'z not gettin' in no trouble. Wherze I'z goin', tha devil cain't come.....I'z goin' ta tha Lard's house tanight an tha devil ain't comin'!" She was almost dancing outta the hotel :)
I dun no luuks like that there is a queeestshun fur Rich or Billy Ray...them redneck boyz guts a lot of weezdom guess cauze that's all the teeth they gots left is them weezdum teeth.
It's true though. The enemy is present, looking for every and any opportunity to knock us to our knees. We must never let our guard down, because the enemy is so deceiving.
We prevail because of Jesus Christ. Through Him we can defeat Satan.
Brother Todd, I am trying not to look at the light....lol No! in all seriousness I lived that dangerous game, I don't ever want to go back... because as one of the member of the band Casting Crowns pointed out when you fall you don't fall alone, and I was single mom when I fell my kids needed me most... and it is true I didn't fall by myself, I left my kids in dire sires... I did one thing though, I told God I couldn't take care of my kids and cast them unto Him... There aren't where I would like them to be, but they aren't far off... But, if I'd stayed strong my kids, would be in church, living great Christian lives... They do believe but that's it... I failed my kids.... So listen to Brother Todd don't look at the light...
Joey: The enemy never sleeps. But just as you said, in so many words "Greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world.
Elizabeth: You are right it is no lauging matter! Sin has serious consequences and the devil is so deceptive.
Marilyn: God bless you. Thank you, for sharing a part of your testimony with us. God has a way of redeeming the years that the locusts have eaten. Your children are watching you now, and you are an encouragement to them. Everyone makes a their own choices, I would not bear that burden, you love them, and what happened happened, you are going forward now! But, yes it is true that there are always someone else who's lives we effect more than we know. Know that God loves you Marilyn and now therefore there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus!
