| Don't let depression win over your spirit. |

100:5 For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations. Don't doubt in the dark what God wants to reveal in the light. Charles Spurgeon had great moments of triumph but he suffered great moments of terror and depression. Once in a service in London 12,000 people were inside and 10,000 outside. Someone yelled, "fire." The whole place got into a panic and people scrambled to get out which caused seven to be killed and many to be injured. Spurgeon never got over this tragedy. In his lifetime he wrote 3,500 sermons 135 books and edited 28 others. He died an untimely death in his early fifties. He felt God used suffering like a gardener pruning beautiful roses. Knowing that suffering keeps us tender towards others and from being proud. Martin Luther agreed with Spurgeon as he suffered greatly with depression in his lifetime. He felt our spirit sinks within us and we cannot endure as we could wish. Many can know great glory and great grief. Luther transcribe the first New Testament in German. Yet he knew it is through prayer and the great promises of God that we rise to the challenge of another day. Spurgeon never got over all of the people being hurt and dying in his meeting...however, the disaster only increased the crowds and soon all of London wanted to hear him. The enemy of our soul desires that we give up the fight but if God is for us who can be against us. Jesus is the name above every name and we tell "depression" to bow its knee in the name of Jesus and we speak the joy of the Lord over your spirit and your life. May His love surround you today and remember: "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jer. 33:3
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." III John 1 vs 2
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised." Luke 4:18
Allow the Lord to pour the oil of joy over you today and give you the garment of praise because He promises He will never leave you nor forsake you. Remember that Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. He knows the number of hairs upon your head and knows what you are going through. Don't let depression win over your spirit. Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Worship the Lord and praise Him and He will change your situation.
Don't listen to the voice of the devil trying to put doubt in your head that your situation can never change. He is the father of lies and there is no truth in Him. Have faith in God...even a tiny mustard seed of faith can move a mountain.
"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies; who satifieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed." Psalm 103:16 |
