| Share Your Faith.....It is a Privilege! |
|
| |
There are plenty of scriptures to support that we should share our faith. It is a calling for all believers and a privilege. We don't have to tell people about Jesus.....we GET to! We can tell people about our Lord because of what He has done for us! After all, haven't we been saved from the pit of hell? Hasn't Jesus given us peace, joy and happiness? Why wouldn't we want this for others? I think the key is to be sensitive to the Spirit when sharing our faith. I sometimes find it works best to just share what the Lord has done in our lives. People don't seem to mind as much, if things are not directed at them :) Let the Lord meet these people where they are in their lives. So how do we go about this? 1. Always be ready to give an answer, but let the Spirit lead us in this. 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 2. Just take your Bible and go share! 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God [to be] the Judge of quick and dead. 1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: 3. Never be ashamed of the gospel or deny your faith 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 4. Don't just talk the talk, but walk the walk 9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 5. Sometimes God will forbid, but I would say, this is not the norm. 16:6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, 6. Sometimes we just need to shake the dust off of our feet. I would say this is for those people who say "Would you please shut up!" Or for those times when you are just throwing your pearls before swine. 9:5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. 7. Always remember.... 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! How about asking the Lord where He would like your "beautiful feet" to go? After all, leading people to Christ is such a blessing. They get saved, we get blessed, God gets glorified! So what's stopping you??? |
