What will a man give in exchange for his Church membership?

What the worth of one's church membership? The value has went down greatly as the nearest of the Lord approaches. Seems like it takes very little to keep folks, I mean church members away from the House of the Lord.What if folks treated their employers the same way, they treat God with their attendance? I don't think that you would be gainfully employed very long with an attendance problem. A few years back the Kingsmen a southern gospel group recorded a song entitled "Excuses". The song was about all the lame excuses people uses for not attending church. There's a line that says that the preacher didn't even shake my hand. The baby has a cold "it's pneumonia", I suppose and whole family had to stay home from church just to wipe that poor child's nose. Excuses, Excuses you'll hear them every day, the devil always wins, if away from church you stay. There use to be a popular saying, Don't let the hearse take you to Church.For those that don't know what a hearse is, that's the car that the funeral home uses to transport someone expired remains to the grave yard. Where is the one place that Christian's can get their B1 vitamins? Where can believers, hear the Word of the Lord and receive instructions for living right? Where can the body of Christ meet for fellowship and edifying? Where can the sick go to be prayed for by the elders that the Lord can raise them up?
5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Good blog. HOWEVER, My daughter sufferd from a rare immune disorder(she is being healed even as we speak) and Amy Jo' s life as of right now depends on staying in and staying AWAY! We are members Of Trinity and have bben for 20 years. We worship wit them by tapes!

Sister Patti,
I'm addressing those that don't have a good reason for not attending. I know there a things that happen, I have a wonderful Mother in Law that can't attend for health reasons. God see the needs of your daughter and our prayers are with you for his touch. Thank God for a church that supports those that can't attend with the message by tapes or CD's.

Yes, thank God for churches that support..... (and of course, I am referring to churches which are made up of generous and compassionate brothers and sisters...)

assembling together doesnt mean an organized denomenation. Not enough money in the world to be a member of that

Grace alone, Where do you fellowship with believers? I'm not promoting denominations, I'm promoting Jesus. I've lived long enough to know that we need fellow believers to grow in the knowledge and the grace of God. There's a church out there for everybody to be a part of, this is where the body of Christ comes together? Assembling together has to be in a central location unless your having home services where believers unite.I seen too many fall by the wayside trying to live out side his body.
