Since I am not much of a biking fanatic, I would say don't go...but, knowing you, and how much you love to bike, then I have to say, how can you not go?  You have been thinking about it for a long time, and to not go now would be disappointing to you in the long run.  Even if you don't finish, you should at least try.  That's my opinion, for what it's worth :)

I've been thinking about your blog for the past couple of days.  It seems like a lot of times I do things when I'm not fully prepared & when I do, it makes me angry @ myself bcs. I know I could have done a better job.  But the statement, "God uses me regardless of my level of ability or knowledge" struck me.  I never use to think that way when it came to my christian life.  I was led to believe I could never be "adequate".  It wasn't until Todd & I started @ N.L. that we realized God can use us where we are!  As far as your 100 mile bike ride, it could be the thing that's gets you fired up to get back into shape!!

I suppose we all feel inadequate at times, don't we?  I guess because we are!  :)  There have been SO many times that I've said to God, "Are you kidding?!"  But with faith, I've taken the challenge, and sure enough, HE provided everything I needed to get HIS job done!  Sometimes there's no choice to be made...we're thrown into situations we think we'll never get through!  We kick and scream the whole time, telling God we CAN'T DO THIS, But HE's always faithful!

Writing that reminded me of the many times I've had to "push" Emily to do things that I knew she would love, but she was too scared to try (Going down the big slide at the pool, for example).  What she must have been thinking and feeling when I told her she MUST do it!  "Why are you doing this Mommy? I CAN'T do this! I'm scared!"  And then the BIG SMILE she had when her head popped up out of that water, and down the slide she went all day long!

Lisa, I'm glad New Life is your home now!  ~Val~
