| He Heals! |

God wants us to pray to him for help! He hears and He cares.
In Luke 18:1 Jesus told his disciples that they "should always pray and not give up." and then Jesus asked "...will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?" Pray to God from your heart for healing. Don't stop. Don't give up. God wants us to ask him for help. He loves us.
Luke 18 1And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Here are some ways in God's WORD to receive healing.
1.Put your faith in the Word of God. Proverbs 4:20-23 John 16:23 Mark 11:23-24
2. Call for the Elders of the Church to pray for you. James 5:14
3. Pray in agreement with another believer. Matthew 18:18-20
4. Have hands layed on you during prayer. Mark 16:15-20; Hebrews 6:1-2
5. Partake in the Lords Supper. 1 Corinthians 11:23-30
6. Exercise your Faith. John 14:12-14; Acts 3:6,16
7. : Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
Only someone who has faced or is facing a serious sickness, pain or tragedy knows how hard it is. They know how hard it is to cope with the fear and uncertainty and even lose hope at times....until the touch of the Master.
They may feel it sounds absurd when someone first tells them to "keep a positive attitude". They know how terrifying it is when the doubt comes. They know how hard it is to throw a mountain into the sea. But remember what Jesus told us in Matthew 17:19-20 when he said " 17:19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Faith as small as a mustard seed sounds a little like hope to me, and that's a good start.
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? Jesus told them, "Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting"
17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
God STILL HEALS.
Jesus taught his disciples how to pray and heal through Him. He sent them to carry on his work. Wouldn't Jesus want his followers to pray for healing today? YES...Greater works than these shall YE do....
14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Let us realize we are not only called into healing for ourselves, but also in various degrees into healing each other.
The Bible actually gives us some directions on how to pray for healing. For example, in James 5:14-15 we are told:
5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
and in James 5:16 we are asked to "confess your sins (faults) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." and then told that "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." (availeth MUCH)
5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
In Mark 11:23-25 Jesus further instructs to forgive when we pray "if anyone says to this mountain, `cast yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]. 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Whenever Jesus came across sickness His attitude was to heal it. |
