29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end. Just what are God's Plans and purpose for your life? How is it that you find out the will of the Lord in your life? Oh my, my sometimes people go around like a dog chasing their tails trying to answer these questions. Many times people just give up and say that God does not have purpose or plan in their lives. When this occures people loose hope, they start to think that the place where they are is no where and they might as well give up. Either that or they start to think that God is so big that He could not possibly care enough about their insignificant life. Some people don't even put God in the equation that is their lives. I must admit there have been times when I have done all of the above. Then I heard about Jeremiah 29:11. Then I started to follow the scripture trail that tellls us that God has a plan and a purpose for our lives, tells us that we are loved with an everlasting love, that we are engraved upon God's hands. There are so many more scriptures, and if you would want chapter and verse I would have to get out my concordance. (One thing you will learn about me is that my abillity to remember scripture chapter and verse, is something God has not finished with me yet.). After following the scripture trail,I realized that at my age, God is still not finished with me yet. Even though my life may not have always reflected God's best example of a human being, he was and is not finished with me yet. This great hope has given meaning to my life, has allowed me to cope with the changes in my life the good an the not so good. I trust if you will meditate on Jer.29:11 and other scriptures you will find new meaning and purpose in your life. Even if you have direction for your life, if you meditate on the word it will confirm that you are going in the right direction, or it will point you in new avenues of service, it's all good. So today I encourage you to follow the scripture trail. I encourage you to pray and meditate. I encourage you to abide in Jesus so that your life may more fully reflect God's plans and purpose for your life. I encourage you to not see this point in your life as the end, but a stepping off place into greater service for and to our Lord. |
