2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 5:13For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 5:14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. The message title is Cheese and Crackers. The story was told of a foreigner that had a great desired to come to America. This dear man sold all that he possessed to purchase a ticket on a ship that was coming to America. With the money that was left,he purchased enough cheese and crackers to sustain him on his trip to America. After boarding and getting started on his trip to America the dinner bell was sounded. The tables were prepared and the meals were set, this dear man brings out his bag with his cheese and crackers goes to a corner table to eat. During the next several meals this is repeated, the tables were prepared and set, this dear man brings out his crackers and cheese. As the journey nears it's destination America, the Captain comes out to eat with the guest the last meal. He notices this dear man in the corner with the last of his cheese and crackers. The Captain addresses him and ask, why are you in the corner there eating cheese and crackers? For this dear man was unaware that all the meals and trimming were included in the price of his ticket. He was brought to the captains table and enjoyed the feast that was set before him. Sounds like lots of folks that God has prepared a great feast, yet their willing to accept the cheese and crackers. There was a son of a rich man that had to have his inheritance now. After his father divided unto him of his goods the son took a far journey. There he befriended some so - called friends that help him waste his inheritance. After everything was gone this son found himself employed feeding pigs, and his wages were being allowed to eat with the pigs. Pig food for the most part is slop, that's the parts that gets racked out of the plates that nobody else wants. After a short time this son realize that pig food would not sustain him. He remembered a loving father that had hired servants that eat people food not pig food. He made his way home to seek his fathers forgiveness and had a desire to be a hired servant. The Father see his son returning, not like he left with the fine clothing. No he was returning in rages and with the stink of a hog farmer. The Father ran to this son with open arms forgiving him, before he ever said he was sorry. Jesus shared this story to show us how our heavenly Father feels about you. Regardless of your past God's looking to be a part of your future. What's your diet? Do you want to partake of the things of this world and eat the devil's slop? Do you want to partake of the Lord's marriage supper of the Lamb? Jesus came to give us life and that we might have it more abundantly. |
