| 41 Years |

It is hard to believe that I am turning 41 today. Seems not that long ago that I was in college having the time of my life. Now, I am raising kids, holding down a career, and doing things that people my age do.
It struck me yesterday, as I was meditating that there is a spiritual significance to "40." All through out the Bible we see references to "40." It rained 40 days and 40 nights during Noah's day. Moses spent "40" years on the back side of the desert. The children of Israel wandered "40" years in the wilderness. Jesus was tempted "40" days in the wilderness by Satan. Jesus spent "40" days on this earth after His resurrection. I am sure there are many more references to 40 in the Bible but that is just off the top of my bald head.
In Biblical Numerology the number "40" stands for a period of testing and trial through which either victory or defeat is determined. So now as I embark on the next 40 years, one thing I know. I have been tested, tried, measured, and found faithful at this point in my life. I love the Lord more today than I did even a year ago and I am looking forward to this new season in my life.
I am believing the the latter is going to be greater the the former and the end of a thing (my life) is going to be greater than the beginning. God has used me in many ways in the first 40 years, but I am expecting greater things in the coming days, months, and years. I praise God for all the trials and tests He has put me through and seen me through so far, but I can tell you, that the wisdom I have gained, the intamacey gained with the Lord, and the victories won have prepared me for the next stage. Just like David who whipped the lion and the bear knew he could take on Goliath because of what he experienced in God previously, so I know I will be able to slay some giants and some Philistins in these coming days!
Thanks to all Mychurch friends who posted a comment wishing me a happy birthday! I am getting older but I am not finished! I plan on being like Caleb being 80 something years young and taking possession of the promises of God. Bless you all! |

Awesome blog! Happy Birthday again Brother Todd... and I am glad your listening to the Voice of truth... :) It is good to reflect where you were to where you are. there is a song my mother loved so; where I am going... I been trying to look for that song but can't remember who sang it... how deep my valley how high the but each step near eternity, I don't what my future holds, but I know the one who holds my future and I have no fear of where I am going... something like that... it's a good song, about reflecting yourself... Great blog. |

"I am believing the the latter is going to be greater the the former " Amen!
Todd man, I can so relate to you and the way you view the latter part of life. I spent 40 years in the wilderness too, just like the children of Israel. I got saved, I mean really and truly saved on December 24th, 2004. Yep, Christmas Eve and 28 days before my 41st birthday.
In the words of Jeremy Camp, God blessed the broken road that led me to Jesus. I am so excited about fulfilling my destiny in Him for the duration of my latter days as well.
Bless you my brother. Live long and prosper!
