Wow!

August 26, 2008

Lots of things could move me here - the rebirth of a ministry, the revelation of marriage, the  power of unity, and all these things are intense- but humbly can I say the "whoa" part was the man's letter.  For real.

The words:  Now, know bible study is still going on and I will glorify Christ only not my-self.

This almost took my breath - why?  I am not sure I can articulate it.  Does anyone outside of the Lord know what really took place in that whole organization/jail?   Or how it will effect families and children?

Use me Lord - please don't ever stop!

Thanks Indy, for letting us "in" and get a glimpse into this very precious part of your journey!

(you are the man! -- Every detail - every requirement -settled and finished!)

Mat 25:35-36  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  (36)  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

1Co 7:22

For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.

The thing about it is Scott, we never know what an impact we can have into people's lives.  Just one word, one message, one person in one situation can change everything.  Example.  Could you have ever imagined over 12 months ago that you would have received a letter like that?

I can't imagine what it was like in prison for you, but you turned something bad into something good.  And although I can imagine where you got your strength from, that strength was tailored to you personally.  My only comment to that is, each journey a person takes - depends on where they get their strength from.  We ALL know where you got your strength from, but personally speaking, you took it to another level, and THAT is a challenge for all of us.

I not sure what is more amazing...the awesome testimony or the fact that we find it amazing...

You stayed strong in the Lord, Scott. The word of your testimony with His blood is so powerful that nothing...absolutely nothing...even the gates of hell cannot stand against it.

TGBTG forever and ever...

...and Lord, please continue to give The Sporty wisdom beyond his years so he can offer Your word in love to those in need. Allow him to see You and Your hand at work so he may give glory to You. Amen and amen!

For MC

Philippians 1

12Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. 13As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard[a] and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. 14Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.

Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 19for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.

You know when I was reading the letter it was like deja vue!  I was seeing the Word before me as I was reading letters that Paul had written.  It was like experiencing the Word as it is being acted out in real life.

Cool!

Amen, and you are so right!  We will not know exactly how what we may say or do will effect eternity.  I know that is what the Lord has been showing me...I had thought about going back in the military a year ago but didn't pursue it.  Now, here I am at 39 going back in....why?  Other than a steady income and insurance for the family only God really knows and as I said in my "Update on Life August 26th, 2008" blog it started after my physical last Wednesday.

I do ask that each one of you add my wife, my kiddos and myself to your prayers especially for the next 17 weeks and 4 days....I have never been away from them that long and I can't do it by myself.  Scott I will draw upon your insight, wisdom, and strength through this time as I know you understand what I will be going through even if the situation may be different.

Be Blessed and I know God is still working in the Parrish and in your case...

God Bless you David.  I am a 17+ year Veteran and I do feel your pain.  God needs men like you serving this awesome country.  You have the heart for God and God has your family in His care.  Remember that your family is His, we are supposed to take care of them for Him.

You will certainly be in our prayers and we love you.  Please stay in touch and let us know what we can do to help make all this easier for you and your family!

Your Brother in Christ,

through the eyes of God.  My heart ached for their pains and I
so desired to see relationships healed and lives changed."

Scott, There are many things that we plant... and many are those who tend the seed upon the ground... and the workers of the harvest! Praise God that you knew what your call meant!

There are those who only see the rich Fields before them and shout "Praise be to God who has made the abundance we see here!

But if the planters and those who tend would only see that though their work a good end in the harvest is the result and that the Lord of the spring is also the Lord of he harvest... wow... we all need to do our part... tough it might seem a 'trifle'... He has ways to make much out of little (He made us out of dust... talk abut a lot from little...), and w do not know His ways for his ways are not our ways... though we have His image... we do not have the intellect to compare ourselves to the Lord.

His will be done!

Blessings and prayers go before you, Scott... there are many snares that you still face.. as all of us do... stay fast to His call... there will be no error for those who stand righteous in His sight!

Blessings!
YBIC,
LV

I understand this because the Lord gave me a burden for a man named Josh who dated my niece 4 years ago. He assaulted her when drunk, and she broke up with him. He went to jail for a dui and I visited him for months and paid his attorney fee and put 200 a month in his account for coffee etc. Gave him a new bible and books and subscriptions to Guidepost and Nascar telling him about some Christian racers. He loves Nascar. My mom sent him a newspaper and we both wrote almost daily.  Now he is on work release and he calls me and tells me he is praying for me and my needs. He gets out in April and a new Soldier for Christ is born.

Praying for you Scott, in this last battle with court. hugs juanita

How in the world did I miss this blog??? Scott, IMO the MyChurch community had its greatest victory when celebrating your release. And IMO the community never felt tighter than when we were rallying around you and Bubbles during your intense trial(s). Thanks so much for this post. This could be my all-time favorite! God bless you brother!

Aww- Juanita, God knew you were needed there.  Keep being used!  LOL
What is sad is that there was no one else in his life that the Lord could send.
I will pray for him and his family (which you are now)
Thanks for the prayers Girl!

Mike, OMGosh!  Yes it was.
We were so tight that our prayers were amazing.
So many things were happening in peoples lives and God was moving like a flood water washing through.
