food Its what I do, all day...I sit here fixing food, serving food, cleaning up after food, eating food (when God allows me the time to), picking up pieces of food, and searching for hidden food that the kids will hide in strange places. 6:21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. Food, all day all night between the three daycare kids and the four of my own plus our supper meal which can inclued anywhere from 1- 11 people Depending on who ishere and what they are eating. My life is revolving around and around and around food. I have made several desicions about the amount of food in my life.. this includes those who live under my house= my kids! The fight is on, actually it was on about four month ago when I read a parenting book about raising your family the right "Jewish" way. One thing this book mentioned is how the table is actually like an alter. This is where you and your family break bread every day ( I guess if you dont sit at your table then your outta luck). What is your table life like? Is it always the "christian" experience of the day? It is more like an old world war 2 video where everything is played out in slow motion and explained in great detail? Or worse yet a new age rap video where everyone is after everything and once they have what they want then they are gone? 22:7 And when the sun is down, he shall be clean; and afterward he shall eat of the holy things, because it is his bread. This is our time for our family and for our time to "break bread" our meal should start with worship and with praise. I understand how hard it is for most of us to get together and pray and eat at the same table and still go on with our lives. but even in knowing this we still have to make some sort of adjustment to our lives in order to fully serve God. At my house we can't all be here in the morining to break bread together. School starts a three different times for four kids. It is an excuse: I could very well wake everyone at the same time and have breakfast together. But I choose to let them sleep until they need to get up. Dinner is our meal, most of the time. We take turns praying over the meal, depending on who is doing the praying it could take 2 minutes or 15 seconds. We sometimes discuss scripture, we sometimes discuss a bible story along with the days activities. It just depends. Food and meal time is soooo important in the Bible. I just did a thing on sacrifices and offerings.. and DON'T EAT IT, He told you not to eat that! Its so important and I have come to dispise it feircly. If I don't see mac-n-cheese stuffed in another kids ear again I will be happy. OR todays favorite how about refried beans in the eye ball of a 15 month old. Yes ... Food It's What I DO! |
