Another HEART blog!!! (Note: this may be anoying to some but me... it's fun and confirmation!)
Free Write: One of the reasons that people decorate with jewels and make up is because they are more often than not only wanting to accentuate just their good qualities and distract from the bad qualities. What God wants from us is for us to deal with our hearts so that it is not all bound up hidden and is exposed reflecting only that which is good and expsed for truth and purity.
God gives us so many opportunities to do amazing things with our hearts - I know that in the process of studying mine and its abilities (which by the way are many) I stand in fear before my God at not using this opportunity to polish up this new jewel to the best of my ability (I have not much to give to such an awesome God ... but if I can try and not screw up yet another thing and if He finds it "precious" then it is more than a duty to keep it clean. It is now a moment by moment, if not a second by second, a beat by heart beat goal to keep it right before my precious Holy Father.
3:3 Let not yours be the outward adorning with braiding of hair, decoration of gold, and wearing of fine clothing, 3:4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. |
