LETTER TO THE EPHESIANS THE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER OF EPHESUS BAPTIST CHURCH Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:2) September 2008 Since we celebrate Labor Day in the month of September, let us think for a moment about the type of employees that please their boss. They are dependable, always showing up to work, even when they do not feel like it. They are loyal, willing to do whatever task the boss assigns them to do. They always keep a positive attitude, even when others around them may be constantly negative. The bottom line is that every boss would love to have a workforce full of these types of hard-working individuals. Now, have you ever stopped to consider the similarities between the workplace and your church? Our boss is the Lord, and we should always strive to please Him in our service. That means being faithful in our attendance, always showing up whenever we have the opportunity. That means being obedient to serve our church in whatever way God is calling us to serve. That means keeping a positive attitude about our service, knowing that God watches everything we do and that He is pleased to see His servants laboring diligently. Stewardship is about more than just handling our money the right way, even though that is important. Being a good steward involves being responsible with all that God has given us, including our time, talents, and abilities. Let us endeavor to be good stewards by faithfully serving our Master here at Ephesus Baptist Church. Be dependable in your attendance. Be loyal in your obedience to God. Stay positive in your attitude. As we celebrate Labor Day this month, my prayer is that each of us will bring honor to the Lord as we “Labor for our Master from the dawn to setting sun.” In Christ, Bro. Todd
