Ahhh yes I too have spent time on that and you know what came to me...
Even our mind must be protected, for it is from our "thoughts" first that the doors to our heart are open. I know that I need to keep control over what enters those doors and it is a stuggle if not battle... sometimes a quiet one and a sneak attack can be under way and before I know it it's all out war and I was blindsided-  That is where being fully aware of our armor comes in.  Making sure that we are wearing our "helmet of salvation" in military terms covers us from even 'thought leeches'.  That helmet is what keeps us from traveling down in self destructive modes.  The biggest problem is that there are many christians out there that forget to "put on their full armor" and they walk out the door on their way to work or school and they are armed only with their coffee and cell phones but not the actual armor that God gave them to wear continually (that is what they left next to their Bible along with their notes from last Sunday's church meeting).
Because I am a dork and was forgetting I would pretend to put it on before i got my morning coffee (if you have to physically go through the motion it's better than picking of leeches! Those suckers HURT!! :0)

Steve,

This blog is incredible, it is illustrative of both the spiritual and natural realm. It gives sound and practical advice on becoming free, healed, healthy, and whole.. One must renew their mind of these hostile thoughts, and in doing so can remove bodily responses of all manner of sickness, ill-will, and violence against themselves and others.

Many people both Christian and non-Christian must recognize that the body does, what the mind thinks and restores. A thought left unchecked, A thought left undeveloped brings forth actions that are unchecked( the out of control person) and the undeveloped (the immature person). It has been said an idle mind is the devil's playground.

1:8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.

A powerful imagery. I will print this out, as it will be helpful for Wendy to read. (I've also printed GodsAnointed Ministries' blog - Daily confession of Faith. ) Wendy has been on one drug for depression, another for anxiety, plus... for seven years now.  Her sleep cycle w/o it for the past two days has been reversed (awake late nights, sleep day). Her sleep pattern on it, was 'sleep much of day and night. I'm considring drawing a small circle of friends (6 all told with me and Wendy) as a prayer group for this and honing in a few other needs. (Friend Don's liver; & the bldg of Kingdom ministry ), as I fear a lack in supporting her to come out of her troubles, and deeper into the Kingdom of God.

I created my own swamp you may quick sand with leeches. I found my inner peace in Jesus Christ. I prayed one day and I was pulled from that swamp this was the day I was saved in the name of Jesus Christ

Good thoughts, great picture we can relate to Steve!

A word to Angela: don't forget whose armor we are told to put on, not ours, but God's Armor.
When we put on God's full body Armor like the Mid-Evil Knights, the devil don't know who is in it until we speak! If we do as Jesus did, and say ...."it is written" in answer to the lies, we sound like God, we look like God, and as far as the accuser of the brethren thinks, we are God in the ring with him, and he gets real uncomfortable, real fast! PTL ! Glory to Jesus for sharing His victory with us!

Thanks for all those comments and stars.  Isn't it awesome that none of us have to allow negative, tormenting, or destructive thoughts to remain in our mind?  Thank You, Jesus, that we can think on the things that the Bible tells us to think about in Phil. 4:8.

Tom, what I had to do was read the scripture outloud and I would stand and go through the motions of putting on the helmet of salvation, sheild of faith, etc...In and of myself I had nothing- it was destoyed from ritual abuse (kidnapped) and then as stated above- I had to change my mind set and my physical set as well ( I thought all was well when I got older - I went to seminary, came home got married and even got in the ministry Jr. High Youth Pastor's and my husband changed- It took me a long time to get REAL with what I needed.
I have never been so graphic of my testimony on this site- But someone needs to hear this!  God has all of the power you need to fight the inner and the outer demons that are attacking you.  You have only to know that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but they are MIGHTY- satan has NO power- at best he can only lick you and gum you and even for that- God can make him suffer PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD my friend! Stand strond and know that the blood of Christ was paid with a price and you can claim that power-Jesus freely gave it to you (For that reson alone I am alive and well and those precious little men that you see on my site- are none the wiser - they get to grow up just like the way God intended:0)

Angela:  Bringing our thoughts captive to Christ is indeed a real battle.  I use Scrpiture verses and repeat them over and over in my mind through out the day.  Our minds cannot think two thought at the same time.  By filling my mind with Scripture and prayer, the leech thoughts are denied access.  It really works.
