| Matthew 10:42 The Old Man on the Plane |

10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold [water] only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
A friend sent me this story a while back and I wanted to share.
As I was sitting waiting to board my plane I noticed an old man sitting in a wheelchair waiting to board his plane too. He appeared to be alone, and his hair was a tangled mess. It was quite long and matted. His hands were knarled and he looked absolutely sad in his heart.
God spoke to me and said, "Go Brush His Hair" I thought to myself...now I can go ask him if he knows the Lord, but why on earth would I brush his hair???
God spoke again, "Go Brush His Hair". Now I told God He must understand, my brush was already loaded on the plane. I did not have a hairbrush with me. I was getting very uncomfortable by now. Why in the world would God want me to embarasse myself in front of all these people in the terminal and brush his hair with a brush I did not even have!?
Once more God said, "Go Brush His Hair". I stood rather shaken now and began to move closer to the old man not having a clue what I would say when I got to him.
I bent down and said, "Sir may I have the honor of brushing your hair"? He looked up at me and said, "what's that"? People were beginning to look at me in a funny way and I was sweating bullets. But again I ask, " Sir may I please have the honor of brusing your hair"?
His eyes glistened and he replied, "Yes, Thank you." I told him my only problem was I did not have a hairbrush with me. He had a small carry on bag with him and inside was the much needed brush.
I began to slowly brush. His hair was clean just unkept. And when I finished he looked up at me with tears in his eyes.
He had been in the hospital for many months and had been away from his sweet wife which had been to sick herself to visit him. He was on his way home and was worried at what a sight he must be to be seeing his bride of 50 years looking such a mess.
He beamed with gratitude. Why had I been afraid to do this simple act of kindness? All because I did not want to appear weird in front of others? And because I did not have what it took to do the job asked of me?
I obeyed and God provided. And a small act of kindness made someones day better that day.
2:35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, [that] shall do according to [that] which [is] in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
Be Faithful! |

| We never know do we? Learning to be obedient to those inner promptings is a hard thing, but once we do and we get over the foolishness of it, or what we will look like then God can do some amazing things like that! |

Mike, this one has been around the block several times...I always get goosebumps when I read it!
Tom, that is right! You know Tom, I believe that prayer would have been fulfilled even if this particular woman had not done as God told her. But then She would have been the one to miss out on the blessing! |
