In 1985 I had the opportunity to see this in real life form. My son and I was send to West Virginia to work in a flood area after a hurricane had come up the Mississippi River and flooded the state. One morning after serving breakfast, the Officer, David and I were given the chance to see some on the damage the storm had done. There was this farm house that sat about 30 feet from a small mountain river, but after the storm in now set in the middle of the river. You could see on the second floor of the house were the water had left it mark. The house was found to be it is same location setting on the rock it was build on. No broke windows, no other damage but water damage. This house survived due to being on the rock.
We need to understand that we need to be sure that we build our lives and faith on the Rock of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Solid Rock that has come into our lives to save us from Hell. Storms of life can destroy us with out the Rock which we build our faith and Hope. Do not build your faith on sand and lose it all.
7:24 "Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; 7:25 and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 7:26 And every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; 7:27 and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it." |
