Wow, currently living in a different place surrounded by non christians this verse speaks to me. It's hard to speak about your faith, or being a Christian when you are scared that people will make fun of you for being one. I mean i'm terrified that i will be made fun of because Christians can't do anything fun. Yet because of this verse, in not speaking up, I am probally being lukewarm, and that is worse than doing nothing. Therefore i have to walk in the light, stand up for myself. Hard but will have to be done.
1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth; 1:7 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. |
