Thanks, Angela.  God's creature, made in His image, should be treated ethically, even when developing in the womb.

Um, yeah Steve, given the great problems affecting humanity, ethical treatment of animals ranks pretty low on my list too. Good point.

Greetings Dear Steve and Awesome Friends:

These are all historical and current cultural indicators. How we treat - everything.

We slaughter 23 billion animals a year for food in the US alone.

We euthanize almost 10 million animals a year in animal shelters.

Worldwide in 2003 40 million babies were aborted. (extrapolate that figure)

Fresh stats show ru-486 has now claimed up to 500,000 lives.

We have killed over 100 million in wars throughout history.

We watch death constantly on tv and in movies.

We watch sports whose base level is defeat/death. (win/lose)

Yes we are a culture of death.

I might add that the origins of the "Pill" and RU-486 are within legacy companies who provided the chemicals and components for the Nazis and their death camps.

As Christians - we are called to a higher level of respect and care for all living creatures. Dominion does not mean destruction and domination as some would believe.

Seems our compassion has turned into convenience.

Quite sad really.

AMEN! It is seriously about time. I never understood how people could fight, bleed and die for animals..which is a good thing obviously. But when it comes to the endangerment of babies, wont even blink.

God tells us to be good stewards of what He has given us, and to take dominion over the earth. So taken care of the animals is important..So how much more humans who are made in His image? Its truly sad how we can be so busy being eco-friendly that we forget what is most important.

Good blog! =)

Good thought.  It sounds like Dan Matthews has his burden or calling.  I pray that God will put a burden & call for someone to begin PETUH. A worthy and godly cause for sure.

PETA people are crazy and they scare me!  I'm sure they started out with good intentions, but when did the life of an animal trump the life of a human being?

* Says a little silent prayer for these people and a big prayer for the unborn.

Greetings Beloveds:

Let's simplify this conversation: Man kills everything.

For those that forget our Divine Origin:

Simply amazing that people that a college educated have such total disregard for the unborned. They will physically fight you over the killing of baby seals and whales and tell you the a festus is a mass of tissue. Being a father, I found out that a mass of tissue with out a doctors interference becomes a living breathing human being. How many aborted babies have occurred since Roe verse Wade legalizing murder in America. ( Millions ) What makes us any different than Hilter?

Thank you all for the stars and the interesting comments.  This is an issue that we have been realitive silent about for way too long.  Womb dwellers deserve to live as much as you and I deserve to live!

There is a "Tomb of the Unborn" on the campus of the callege my cousin goes to.  I go there and pray from time to time as does so many other young people.
