Greetings to each of you in the blessed name of Christ of our Lord and Saviour. As it has been some time since I have written, I hope that each of you are well and continue growing in your personal walk with the Lord. This has to be the one of the busiest summers ever for me. From Men’s Camp to the Congress in Atlanta to the teaching of the Teen Sunday School class, as well as working at work and at home, it has been a summer full excitement and wonder, not to mention a little stressful. Now that I am back on somewhat of routine I hope to be able to blog once a week. However, it might not always be possible. In addition, I have been asked to lead a weekly Bible study and possibly a second as well. While both of these are going to be independent of the Salvation Army, at least one has the potential to become part of the New Bern corps programs. Also, I am planning a new project with Shannon’s help as well as mom’s to encourage New Bern corps’ youth. Please keep me in prayer in the upcoming weeks as I incorporate these into my weekly schedule. As for our missionaries, there are several new families to be added to the list as well as one being removed. I would like to welcome the Trayler’s, the Hawley’s, the Saterlee’s, and the Hodge’s. I would like to wish the Matthew’s well in their next appointment, wherever that may be. Each of these families adds something unique to the Salvation Army and I hope their new appointments will be blessed by all that each family brings with them. There are also some new Missionary Kids (MK’S). Please add Hannah, Aubrey, and Mason Trayler, as well as Claudia, Marjorie, and Ingleburg Hodge to the MK list. To the missionaries who read this. I’ve gotten way behind on my cards. Will try to write each of you soon. September birthdays • 4- Mason Trayler • 26- Aubrey Trayler I would also like to welcome a new e-friend to the blog. Nasara from Pakistan joined Mychurch.org a few months ago and we email one other a couple times a week. Her prayers and support (everyone else’s too) has made things a lot more bearable this summer. Please keep her and her family in prayer due to a recent illness in the family. As many of you know, the New Bern corps has new officers. The Dohmann’s are now in Gastonia and I miss them very much (even Aaron). The Gainey’s arrived from Sanford in June (same place the Dohmann’s came from) and brought with them fresh ideas. Both families are Awesome and have a special place in my heart. Just a thought, we need to have some kind of east and west fun day. A little competition, some fellowship, and close with a revival. To the Dohmann’s we are cooking a pig with the New Bern Men’s Secret Sauce and will be thinking of you when we eat it. Hopefully, we will send some your way. Well, I have gone to from saying nothing for weeks to about a page. Hope you are blessed until next time. Blessings and Love, Steve PS Please pray for Eastern NC as Hurricane Hannah aproaches our area as well as Gulf states dealing with recovery from Hurricane Gustav |
