This may not be "new" for some, but it sure blessed the socks off me today!
We were singing about standing on Holy ground during worship today, and I was putting as much of "me" into it as I could, spirit, soul and body to worship my King. Thoughts of Holy Ground came to my mind as I was singing, thoughts of Moses and the burning bush , and God saying take the sandals off your feet, your standing on Holy Ground. I went ahead and kicked my sandals off my feet as we were singing. Then thoughts came into my mind of just why did God want that anyway, was it to show we were not good enough with our shoes on? Did we not match or meet His bar of acceptance with our shoes on? Do we have to do something to meet His acceptance?.....About then is when I heard the still quiet voice of my Daddy God saying to me...."No, I just did not want anything to get between, or insulate me from who I Love"......talk about waves of mercy,..waves of grace....flooding over me during worship! Wow!
All these years I've looked at it ( taking shoes off on Holy Ground) to be us, gotta be doing something to gain admittance before God. A performance based acceptance hang up of mine. While all along it's God just wanting to show a act of Love to us! If the ground is Holy, God is there, so with our bare feet, we are in contact with Him! Cool! |
