Yes some were Diests. Ben Franklin was a Diest. Regardless of them believing God came, created, and went, they all knew and believed His values and ways were the best. Why? Because God loves us. His ways our for our good. Take slavery. In telling a slave to obey his master and do it as though for God, the slave's attitude changes. He moves from being a man of misery to a man of happiness. He's working for the Lord. He no longer sees a worthless life but a life of meaning. At the same time God tells the slave's master that all men are brothers and to treat each other with kindness and love. What happens? The master and slaves eyes are open to truth. They see they have been operating under worldly beliefs with worldly eyes and hearts. Next thing you know, they are hugging one another and sharing in the fruits. Is it perfect? Nope...because people aren't perfect. They justify their beliefs and actions. "I'm a slave so miserable. I can't do anything I want because I'm a slave." "He had better be working his skin off! He's my slave and I paid a great deal of money for him. He better not be sick. I'll show him what sick is. I'm his master!" Both justify their hate and misery thru their circumstances. Circumstances don't dictate happiness or sorrow. Your heart does. Obama leads by fear, teaching from something he does not know. God's word will remain a mystery to him as long as he seeks worldly wisdom and ways. It's a heart issue. That's why he spews hate disguised as love. John |
