Angela:  I am glad you agree and I also enjoy hearing from folks who disagree.  Insight takes all kinds of opinions.

A verse that has been over used and spoken out of context is: "Judge not, lest ye be judged" People have used that so many times to justify their wrong actions. I am like, who said we were judging you? I was just loving you enough to day what you were doing was wrong, and to point you to God. This is another great one. =)

So true.  I've been accused of judging many times.  In reality ... God has blessed me with a keen gift of discernment (both spiritual and natural).  God shows me things about people, often including the intent of their actions.  I used to try to help them, but it's never received ... or maybe I haven't learned how to help, or .. or ... or ... In any case, when God shows you something about someone, you should ALWAYS pray for them.  Whether or not you should say anything, I haven't figured out yet.  Maybe one you more seasoned saints can shed light on this?

Yes brother it has become the worlds mantra to say you are narrow minded and judgmental if you comment on someones incorrect behavior. Satan has put blinders on society and they want to keep them on rather then deal with the incorrect behavior. We as christian must try to talk our talk and walk our walk, but if i get off the path I want to be told. I might be sad or embarrassed for a time, but then I will look to Christ for my restoration. Thank you for this posting.

Amen, Amen!  It seems like the only Scripture they agree with are the ones that they twist to justify their behaviour.  Great post!

Steve I bless God for you, you have just encouraged my soul and my spirit, here i am feeling down about a situation that i find myself in for doing what i know to do in God, and can't encourage myself to save my life, i thank God for you, AMEN and AMEN, and all i have been saying is that they are taking the word of God and twisting it to justify the sin that they live in.

This issue has been complicated by two things: 1) people who do wrong don't want to be called on it, and 2) Christians have a short-sighted view of the issue, repeating the doctrines of political correctness rather than Scripture.

Here's my take on it: We are not to judge with our own values, rather we are to judge everything on the basis of biblical values. And a few verses in support:

John 5:30  "I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me."

John 7:24  "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment."

Joh 8:16  "Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father who sent me."

Romans 12:3  "For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned."

Romans 14:10-12  "Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, 'As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.' So then each of us will give an account of himself to God."

1 Corinthians 1:10  "I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment."

1 Corinthians  2:15  "The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one."

1 Corinthians  5:3  "For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing."

1 Corinthians  5:12  "For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?"

1 Corinthians  6:2-3  "Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!"

1 Corinthians 7:25  "Now concerning the betrothed, I have no command from the Lord, but I give my judgment as one who by the Lord's mercy is trustworthy."

1 Corinthians 10:15  "I speak as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say."

The sad part is people know their doing wrong and get upset at someones pointing it out to them. There's a former President that came so close to being impeached, because he lied under oath to a grand jury. Do you know that old sly fox's to this day won't admit that he lied. To bad those that should have kicked him out actually don't live any better than him.
