We believe that (In Christ) is our refuge, everywhere it is found in scripture.

Psalm 46:1 says “God is our Refuge and Strength an ever present help in trouble.”

In the Old testament times there were cities designated as a place of refuge, they were called City of Refuge. These cities were a place of refuge for those that needed a safe haven.

The Bible says there were six Cities of Refuge Three east of the Jordan River and three west of the Jordan. The person, so called manslayer in that day that took the life of another person in self defense or extenuating circumstance would have to run for his or her life because the avenger of that person would be out to take his or her life. So, the manslayer would have to run to one these cities for refuge.

Today when the sinner comes to Jesus Christ for refuge he or she is safe from the snare of the fowler and the fiery darts of the enemy of our soul.

Once admitted into the city the person would be protected while waiting to plead his or her case. Praise be to God that Jesus has already pleaded our case and paid our debt in full.

Today Jesus Christ is our Refuge, He is our safe haven from the avenger. The Bible says “Having been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath to come.” Romans 5:9

In Christ is a real live condition and the place we all should be walking in when we confess Christ as our Lord and Savior. Amen?
