Hello,
My name is Jesse Ingram, I’m from Corpus Christi, TX. Was born in Portland, OR.
My Biological mom expired 3 months after my birth. Due to my dad having two younger offspring boys,, ages 2 and 4, his sister, my now expired aunt, who was from Corpus Christi, TX legally adopted me.
Growing up in the Black Projects the first 16 years of my life was very educational. I’d seen many unjustified fights, drugs, deaths domestic violence, incest. Also, I personally sold and smoked marijuana for a short time in my early teenage years.
But, as Gods’ Grace and Mercy, along with my adopted mom’s strong Christian up bringing as my mom demanded that I attended church with her the first 17 years of my life. Which lead me to singing in the church choir.
My junior and senior in high school I won awards singing solos in the Regional Inter Scholastic League, also I sung solos in several churches, sung “Precious Lord Take My Hand” at my older brothers Funeral, sung “In The Garden” at my Ministers Funeral and sung “Amazing Grace” at my fathers Funeral.
After working over 3 decades in the Computer Industry at various levels and living in may major cities like Portland, OR ( my birth place ), Seattle, WA, New York City ( Harlem ), I retired and decided it’s time to move back to my hometown, Corpus Christi, TX.
Upon returning I ran into an old friend Georgia Hughes.
Georgia mentioned she wants to start, what I feel is an awesome program, which she initiated on her own to deal with the local drug issues, which is actually a nation wide problem.
It consist of:
1) Talking with 7 or more out in the streets of Corpus Christi, TX on a one to one basis.
2) Getting then into the work force.
3) Getting them into the church environment.
4) Helping them get a better education like GED, AAD egree, etc.
5) Help them get a better job.
6) Keep in contact with them at least once a month.
George feels rehab alone is NOT the Panacea, she feels they need a place to stay, like housing for those getting off drugs.
She feels those hooked on drugs need a 7 Step Program:
1) Make sure their minds are made up NOT to do Drugs again.
2) Know their Destiny
3) Work to reestablish lost family relationships
4) Spend time with their kids, if applicable 5) Do Daily Bible Study
6) Relocation to a drug free clean environment
7) Have a drug workshop once a week I ask that you Please help in ANY way you can with funding for such a program her in Corpus Christi, TX and provide travel to have presentation nation wide.
Thank You Georgia Hughes georgiahoward4730@msn.com (361) 887 0568
