Thanks for the comments on this baby pug. She is about 8 weeks old and being a baby, that means lots of runny bowel movements and frequent bladder releases. LOL Now that might not be too bad for most with a darling little pup but being home alone in my wheelchair makes matters must more challenging; to say the least. When Mito was a baby, I was still able to walk with the assistance of a cane or walker. Now that I am full-time on my round legs, I am having to develop new methods to cope with managing babies; especially of the four-legged kind. LOL As for her name, my grandkids want her to be part of my "poster child" campaign to educate folks about "terminal" mitochondrial disorders like I have. Being that my other female pug is named Mito which is short for mitochondrial, the grandkids wanted to have the black pug named after MELAS; my specific hereditary mitochondrial disorder. So far, it looks like everyone wants to call her Mel. I like Mel as a name and all I have to do now is include her in my "sales pitch" to support donations for research to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and the United Mitochondrrial Disease Foundation (UMDF).
As M.I.T.O. also means "More Intelligent Than Owner" as an opening line for the "ice breaker" in my conversations, I'll need to come up with a related-to-the-situation acronym for Mel. So if anybody has any good ideas, feel free to let me know. Just remember, according to my doctors my vital organs will slowly shut down (Jesus tells me that I am healed - past tense and PTL!) and that I'm losing marbles from my head at an alarming rate (the reason for Mito's acronym). So please, any suggestions for "M.E.L." should be cute but at the same time serious. My situation is serious but I want to portray a possitive attitude to others in similar situations. After all, I have a very bright future to look forward to for eternity. Thank you Jesus! Dave |
