I do not believe that the Lord takes such "wrath" out on people. It bothers me when people say such things as, "Why would God do this to me..", or "How could God let this happen..". God does not punish you for your wrong doings. "What goes around comes around" I truly believe that. Karma is life not the "wrath of God". If you do something that is unjust, or wrong, it is going to come back on you, that is just the way the world works. In the same sense, when you do something good, it will also come back to you.
Why would the Lord take his "wrath" out on us, if he is all good and pure. The Lord is there to guide us through situations that we feel we cannot handle ourselves. The Lord is there to help us out when we have nowhere else to go. The Lord is there to listen, be the shoulder we need, and most of all (if you truly listen, he answers back) be there to guide us through life's struggles. The Lord is your friend, you should not go to him only in the time of need. You should celebrate the Lord, thank the Lord, rejoice with the Lord, talk to the Lord as a friend, not just someone you go to in time of need.
The Lord does not get nearly enough recognition, and thanks. Sure there are churches all over, but most people go to God only in the time of need. The Lord needs to be thanked and rejoiced for everything he does. The Lord is there for everyone in need, and helps out, and does so much for us when we don't do nearly enough for him. A lot of the people that even go to church go for the wrong reasons. Some go because they think it is what they have to do. Some go because they think they are following God simply by going to church. There is so much more to the relationship that you could have with the Lord. I have an overwhelming love for the Lord. I love the Lord so much sometimes, that I don't even know what to do with myself. I talk with the Lord just about every day. Some call me crazy, but if you listen, he does reply.
There are churches world wide, I don't see the reason that I have to go to "the Lords house" to talk and pray to him, when I can sit out in the lawn, relax and have a good conversation with the Lord. Don't take this out of context, I do enjoy going to church and participating in "praising the Lord". I just do not understand why it is mandatory that we go to "the Lords house" just to talk to him, when I can talk to him whenever and wherever I please. The Lord is there for you whenever and wherever you may be. The Lord is always listening, but how are you supposed to hear the reply, if you are not listening yourself....
I could go on and on day after day, on my thoughts of religion. I strongly believe, and have tremendous love for the Lord, and all of the Angels above. I was not intending to get off of the main subject, the Lord just takes me away sometimes... :) ♥♥♥
3:36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him. |

If you are not doing anything against the God's will. That is to break his law on purpose. You have nothing to worry about. He's not mad at you! His wrath is that which is hurting his children. Such as Pastors, etc that teach wrongly.
You are absolutely right. You do not have to go to a certain building to be close to God. |

| Hi Katie! Welcome to MyChurch! I love to see new NC faces here, and I love to meet young adults who are interested in the things of God. All of us, no matter what age, have much to learn about God and his work, and the many ideologies that bombard definitely affect our own thinking. If you have the time, please read my thoughts here, and let me know what you think: http://www.mychurch.org/blog/23521/where-is-god-when-im-hurting |

Wow Katie, you covered a lot of ground with this blog. There is enough material here for 3 or 4 more blogs! While it isn't mandatory to go to a church to find God or worship him, both the Old and New Testaments give beautiful pictures of what corporate (community, congregational) worship looks like. It is special when God's people assemble together to collectively worship him!! The more people, the better! Conversely, it can be risky, spiritually speaking, to deliberately avoid getting together w/other believers. We have much to gain from one another!! |
