The GOD whom we serve is not just  a loving GOD but HE IS LOVE ,1John.4.6.When we fully realize that His love can not be earned but it is freely given, then we will serve our Father because of His love for us !!.

There is saying  in my language that "YOU CAN GIVE WITH OUT LOVE BUT YOU CAN NOT LOVE WITH OUT LOVE ".

what a joy that we have such a Father in heaven, Rom.8.32-33.

What a story!!!  Mr. Vander Woude really exhibited our Father's love in his love for his son.  This man was truly a wonderful father.  The article is a wonderful testimony to his living out his faith, heartbreaking and wonderful.

Wow, have you ever noticed ( I am sure you have) how much more we love our special needs kids? I mean, we parents love our kids so much we give our lives for them, but that love is even stronger when we are given these special needs kids. It is an even bigger parenting calling than your typical kids and please do not get me wrong, all our kids are special. Is just that when we are given God's task to parent an Autistic kid, or any other Special Needs kid it becomes a higher calling. Mr. Vander Woude knew this and so do many of us who are trusted to take care of God's special kids. He knew his son's live was always in jeopardy and was always by his side, as the article says, to protect and love his son even if it meant his own life. That is what we parents do and more so when we have someone like Mr. Woude's son. Normally we know our typical kids will grow to be independent and to assume their parental roles in the circle of life, but when we have a special needs kid is a for life affair and you know you are called to love and protect this kids with your life at all times. He did not sacrifice his life, it was his ultimate act of love and protection, and he understood it that way.

Remarkable story, one which resonates with all of us who are saved and who have children. God loved us so much..Jesus died for future generations that would come to know him, even knowing that we would sin and fall..What love, so amazing!

Brother Todd;
what a awesome story, what a wonderful man, loving and caring...
Thank you Brother Todd for sharing this story, I will put that family in my prayers, for their loss was great.
God bless you and your family... I love how you parallel Vander Woude, and How Jesus died for us... Jesus
is so wonderful, what a gift He gave us... I am glad Jesus loved us that much. Where would we be if He hadn't...

Thomas Vander Woude lived a sacrifical, loving, beautiful life, and he died in the manner in which he lived.
What a blessing he was, to so many people!

I think you're right....  our minds are unable to conceive the love that God has for us; what He was willing to sacrifce so that we can live.  We understand on a "human" terms, but not on "God's terms".

Thank you, God!
