| Give me a bag a chip! |
|
| |
14:12There is a way which seemeth right unto a man; But the end thereof are the ways of death. Sin is like eating a bag of chips. You will always say, "Just one more and I'm done."
However, that is never the case. You will eat one chip. Then another. Then another, and before you know it, the entire bag is done.
Likewise, sinning is the same as eating that bag of potato chip. Once you start sinning, it will feel so good, and you won't want to stop.
Examples of sins that feel good: -Talking about your enemy (not loving) -Getting high from drugs (destroying your temple) -Drinking that entire bottle of wine -Beating your kids in anger -Sleeping instead of cleaning your house (laziness) -Fornicating -Worshiping money
*All this will make your flesh rejoice, but your spirit will DIE.
Consequences of sinning: anger, frustration, stress, violence, doubt, fear, godliness, death.
Consequences of eating too much chips: obesity, acne, sluggishness, other health problems.
Sin always look good at first. Then you will end up dying spiritually or physically.
Choose the path of life.

| This is so true!! Just like the Pringles ad... Once you pop, you can't stop! And the Lays ad, You can't eat just one. Sin is so easy to get into and so hard to get out of. Thank God for 2nd...3rd...4th...5th......and 100000000000000000000th chances! |

As a school teacher I have often taught and read a story to my students called Miss Rumphius. It is a story of a lady who had three lofty goals in life. She wanted to travel to far away places, have a house by the sea, and make the world more beautiful. These goals in of themselves are very worthy however the point I want to make is that 2 of the 3 are goals for self. I know that each of us should set goals for ourselves however the christian goal is to place self aside for the cause of Christ.
| <David.] Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. | This past two weeks after the death of my daughter I have been constantly reminded by the Holy Spirit of the benefits of being a christian. The peace in times of trouble, the grace that takes us through the storms, the comfort that wraps His arms around us in times of distress. Knowing that my beautiful Angie is with her savior and knowing that she is more than ever close to Jesus allows me to experience her presence through His as I worship Him through the things I do and say. What would seem right to my flesh right now would be angry and start blaming however forgiveness is the way of the Lord. |

Brother Jim, you are so right. Just to feel His presence when things are in turmoil is more than words can express. I've allowed anger to overcome my joy these last couple of days. I pray the Lord will take away my anger so that I can once again revel in His presence.
Thank you, I needed that. -Jac<>< |

Listen, because you all have commented on this blog, I can see that this was ordained by God. The Holy Spirit has shown me an area of sin in my life, and I REPENTED. I will never do that again.
Jim, I pray God will comfort you. Jacqueline, I pray peace will overtake you. Prayerfulman, thanks for reminding us of sin's deception. |

| Yeah and I have to add that 'sin is never satisfied' and although it is enjoyable at the time it can never lead to fulfilment. In Jesus we are completely oppositely rewarded when we walk in His ways we are 'completely satisfied and totally fulfilled'.....so why do we keep sinning? The answer is because we are weak. As it states in the Bible 'The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak' and Jesus knows this that is why when we truly repent of sin we are 100% forgiven, slate wiped clean.....what a Saviour! |
