Thanks Mike, It is getting difficult for everyone in today’s economy. Especially for people like myself who live on disability. I only receive SSI, which is the minimum from welfare, since I was a stay-at-home mom and didn’t have any work experience to collect on. I live in public housing for the elderly and disabled…which why the church will bring lunch from time to time.

That's great news!! I love hearing when christians perform acts of service and kindness to those in the household of faith. It lets me know that some are "doers of the Word and not hearers only". I also love the fact that God demonstrated his great care for you Bren. Not only did he give you beef as was your heart's simple desire but he gave you all the trimmings to go with it. How awesome is our God!! Penny

Oh...I just realized Bren that the other day I said I hoped God would give you some meat here...as you partake in the feast...then you wrote about how God provided you with meatload cuz you had a craving. I love that God has a sense of humour about everything and nothing is too small for him.

thanks everyone...yes...God supplies the meat!

Now if he can just supply the gasoline!

Let's all pray this hurricane doesn’t affect the refineries in Texas and cause the prices to go up too much.

Hello Bren... it's me bren...  Just read your comment above and it put me in mind of a previous post I created a while back.  Click:  A Special Link to Save of the Cost of Groceries and an Update.....

It discusses the link: www.AngelFoodMinistry.com (as well as a personal update for my friends if you'd like to get to know me better).

Angel Food Ministry is a Ministry in GA which has been offering considerable savings on quality food (since 1994) through local host sites all over the USA... and this month (have posted Septembers Menu on my blog), they have introduced a special package for Seniors... of nutritional meals. The menu's change every month.

One simply types in their zip code and looks for a local site near you... and if there is not one, perhaps you and other's can be instrumental in beginning one if you are led to do so, (they offer a $1.00 for every box ordered to be given to your favorite ministry) It is said one can save up to $65.00 on a $30.00 purchase.  One must buy at least a $30.00 Regular Box or a $25.00 Senior Box to qualify for other boxes offered at considerable savings. It is for anyone... and one can use Food Stamps.  In our area... our host site (that we refer people to through "Feed My Sheep" and we order boxes to have on hand to help those in the community who come to us for emergency food), requests that we pay by the 12th... and pick up on the 28th of each month.  Host sites may vary... and one can order on line.  It has become so popular in our area... churchs are looking to join with a couple of churches or local volunteers to open additional host sites, for convenience purposes.  You might wanna check it out...

and if you want to know more... about "Feed My Sheep" just check out the articles on it at my blog and www.FeedMySheepGlobalOutreach.com  (we are currently seeking links/testimonies to various ministries who are feeding those in need, whether it be Spirit, Soul or Body, which we will eventually be linked to that link, when it is finalized for that purpose alone, right now it is linked temporarily to www.EnterRest.com). bren
