I definetly believe the latter, that people kill people, not guns. The gun doesn't control you, you control the gun! And don't tell me "well if people didn't have access to them they wouldn't kill others!" WRONG! they would still figure out ways to either obtain guns or they would just kill people some other way! and I know then you would say: "well what about little children who get into their father's closets and find guns and kill themselves?" Well my reply to that is this: It's the father's fault for not having the gun hidden in a better spot where the child can't access it.

Me and my dad think it's interesting because the U.S. allows it's people to have guns, we are one of the most difficult nations to invade, they would have to go from house to house trying to clear out resistance all the while spending energy and men in the prosses(<ya I know bad spelling).

Cars kill people....should we outlaw cars? You can kill someone with a steak knife, should we take every steak knife out of every kitchen drawer?

Guns don't kill people, people kill people is exactly right....if not then you have to say that alot of things kill people and should be extracted from their possession....

More people were killed in worldwide battles prior to the advent of the gun.  So from that prespective guns actually save lives.

People with guns kill people.

People without guns kill people.

People kill people.

People with guns love people.

People without guns love people.

People love people.

I'm pretty sure we could turn this into a Mad Lib.

I had a water gun but it never got me wet until my sister got behind it and squeezed the trigger.

My logic is that prior to the invention of the gun, wars were fought face to face with swords and spears and the numbers of people killed in those battles were tremendously higher than the numbers of people killed in wars fought with guns.  If guns had not been invented and we were still fighting wars with swords and spears, we would still be killing higher numbers of people...  But since guns have been invented the number of people who die in war has consistenly been getting lower and lower without exception (war has even become less frequent across the globe).  Even when you throw in the murder rate across the world, the numbers of people killed in todays day are still vastly lower than they were prior to the invention of the gun.  Does that make sense?
