The Jews and the Law 17Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and brag about your relationship to God; 18if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law; 19if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, 20an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— 21you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? 22You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23You who brag about the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? 24As it is written: "God's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you." 25Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised. 26If those who are not circumcised keep the law's requirements, will they not be regarded as though they were circumcised? 27The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the[c] written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. 28A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God.
i was reading my bible and i came across this alot of people try and help people but they have problems themselves for ex a person is stealing from his mom and dad and he see's one of his friends stealing and he condems him for it....i realized there is some stuff in my life that im doing the same times sometimes like with music and movies (i pretty much quit the music but havnt had chance to delete off zune) when u ask someone to quit swearing yet u listen to music that is always cussing and a movie that has so many sexual themes and cussing and then we have a friend that is swearing at school and we condem him or he is lusting after a girl and we yell at him for it yet secretly in our heart we are doing the same thing.
we need to get the log out of our eye before we can get the sliver out of a friends.
i guess what i am saying is for our leaders even at youth some of us boast about being on the lead team and we try to help some people with the stuff sin in their life yet we dont even have ot right in our own we are trying to help lead them to the light yet we are farther behind them.....
to get rid of these things we are struggiling just go to the lord in prayer and read ur bible if u dont know were to start try Romans.....but spend some time with Lord because that is our obligation as a leader to be a leader and stand up and help others and we cant do that if our hearts not right with the lord |
