Hello Michael

The one thing I do know for sure.  God is true to His Word.  See Hebrews chapters 6 and 10 for starters.  I posted a blog on WILLFUL SIN today.  God will uncover our nakedness if we do not repent.  God is shaking the foundations under those who believe they can continue in sin after receiving the Holy Spirit, and think the Grace of God will cover them or that God will forgive every sin.  There is much more to be uncovered.  People are calling evil good and good evil. The time has come that judgement must begin at the house of God and if it first begin at us what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
See 1 Peter 4/14-19.

Shalom to all my friends

Yes Marcia, God's grace has already covered every sin, but we must remain under that grace covering.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Colossians 1:23

Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Romans 11:22

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end; Hebrews 3:14  Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 3:12

Awesome Mike!

I firmly believe that we do break His heart when we sin& that He does cry. When we do realize how much pain we have caused God then we know we need to drop to our knees & ask for forgiveness. About 4 years ago our Youth Pastor & I took our youth group to Howard Park on the beach for worship. One of the other Youth Pastors played  guitar & we had a large wooden cross that we layed on the beach. Every youth & youth leader/Youth Pastor received a nail. We all took turns nailing it to the cross & I remember the impact that it had not only on me but our youth group. Our sins that we committed Jesus took the beating for us, & everytime someone hammered a nail into the cross it was another sin that Jesus paid for with His life. I thank God everyday for Jesus& for His grace & forgiveness .

God abundant blessings

I think he is a big boy and gets over it.We all fail and we all skin our knees. We have a relationship with God the Father based on what Jesus did. Our righteousness is only found in him. God is not a counter of sin. Sin was dealt with on the cross. The Worlds sin.

If we had to confess sin, then it would be plastered all over the place in the scriptures. Christianity begins when Jesus gives his life. After that? Where are all the scriptures regarding confession of sin and the believer? They are nowhere to be found.

But aha... we find repentence. Repentence is good. We do it on a daily basis if we were terse with someone etc. If sin separated the believer from God, we would be separated most of the day just on tempting thoughts. But thats not how it works. We are complete because he is complete.

In Romans 4:6 Paul quotes this Psalm of David regarding the confession of sin:  Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Psalm 32:1-6

In this Psalm David describes the misery of harboring unconfessed sin in his life and the great relief that came when he confessed it and subsequntly received forgiveness from God.

The most notable New Testament text on the subject of Christians confessing their sin is here.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

"If" is a conditional word.  In this verse, God promises forgiveness on the condition of confession of our sin. Forgiveness is not "automatic" even though God's justice was satisfied at the cross.  Repentance is necessary and it is in two parts: 1. Confession and 2. Forsaking of sin. "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13) The "we" in this verse refers to believers in this case John is including himself.

He is faithful and just... The faithfulness and justice of God are based on the work of Christ on the cross.  Sin is not something God "Gets over" since He's a "big boy."  The faithfulness and justice of God are not to be mocked. God's attitude toward the vileness of sin has never changed.  Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity.Habakkuk 1:13

Neither is a believer's sin to be compared with skinning one's knee. "Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour." Proverbs 14:9

He further promises to cleanse us from all unrighteousness... This is only possible by the blood of Jesus.  Notice the following verses.

if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.1 John 1:9

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Revelation 1:5

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Hebrews 9:22

Praise the Lord Mike! That was powerful & I am greatful you set some of God's confused children on the right path. We need to read & really live what God's word tells us & we are not to mock sin but if we do sin ask God's forgiveness & we are also not to take God's forgiveness for granted. My brother continue to be bold & stand up for your faith. We as christians need to stand on the rock & remember the battle belongs to the Lord!

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN?

Matthew 15:18-19 . . . Evil words come from an evil heart and defile the person who says them. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all other sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.
Our sins defile us, making us impure and giving us evil hearts.
Exodus 34:7 . . . I show this unfailing love to many thousands by forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. Even so I do not leave sin unpunished.
Leviticus 5:17 . . . If any of them sin by doing something forbidden by the Lord, even if it is done unintentionally, they will be held responsible.
Proverbs 11:21 . . . You can be sure that evil people will be punished.
Isaiah 13:11 . . . “I, the Lord, will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their sin.”
Ecclesiastes 12:14 . . . God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.
Ezekiel 18:4 . . . “The person who sins will be the one who dies.”
Malachi 4:1 . . . The Lord Almighty says, “The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. The arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw on that day. They will be consumed like a tree-roots and all.”
Sin brings God’s punishment because it is a violation of God’s laws and holiness.
Numbers 32:23 . . . “. . . you may be sure that your sin will find you out.”
Proverbs 5:22 . . . An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him.
Our sins come back on us. What you plant is what you harvest.
Isaiah 59:2 . . . Your sins have cut you off from God. Because of your sin, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.
Sin has alienated us from God, so that we are not able to enter his presence.
Luke 23:41 . . . We deserve to die for our evil deeds.
Romans 6:23 . . . The wages of sin is death.
Romans 2:9 . . . There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on sinning-for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.
Ephesians 2:1 . . . Once you were dead, doomed forever because of your many sins.
2 Thessalonians 1:9 . . . They will be punished with everlasting destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.
Revelation 20:15 . . . Anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Death is the penalty for our sins-physical death, and eternal judgment by God.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT IS SIN AND WHAT ISN’T?
Exodus 20:1-17 . . . Then God instructed the people as follows.
The Ten Commandments are God’s absolute moral and ethical standard.
Ephesians 5:3-9 . . . Though your hearts were once full of darkness, now you are full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it!
Our behavior is to exemplify the light of Christ that fills our hearts.
Colossians 3:5-11 . . . Put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you.
God calls us to rid our lives of the impurity, lust, and shameful desires of this world.

DOES BEING A CHRISTIAN MEAN WE NEVER SIN?
Romans 7:14-25 . . . If I am doing what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing it; the sin within me is doing it.
We will always struggle with sin, but in Christ we are guaranteed the victory.
1 John 3:4-9 . . . Those who have been born into God’s family do not sin.
Although believers may sin, by God’s grace they are not dominated by the practice of sin.
Romans 8:1-14 . . . Those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
Sin loses its influence over us as we increasingly yield our lives to the control of the Holy Spirit.
Psalm 119:11, 126-141 . . . I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
God’s Word leads us away from sin.

WHAT CAN I DO WHEN I BECOME AWARE OF SIN IN MY LIFE?
Jeremiah 3:21 . . . The weeping and pleading of Israel’s people. For they have forgotten the Lord their God.
2 Corinthians 7:8-11 . . . Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to . . . change your ways.
James 4:7-10 . . . Let there be tears for the wrong things you have done.
1 John 1:5-9 . . . If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us.
Confession of sin brings the cleansing of forgiveness.
