seeing Bro Todd thumping the pulpit with his fist (in love, of course) When my boys used to get hit in football, this mom would yell "Shake it off, and get back in the game!" Amen? (well, one time that didn't work, he had a concussion, lol)

They talked about my LORD  !!!!!

We need to quit crying, ask the Lord for strength, pick ourselves up and move on.

Patti:  "Life is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you'll get."  There are a lot of fruits and nuts huh?

Cinderelly:  Of course it is in love. We can get a hug, a listening ear, but once it's over, it's over.  We can't dwell on it!   Yeah, sometimes you can't get back up, the blows are too heavy like your son and football, but most these little snipes is nothing but something to injure your flesh.  We need to  Let go of our Ego!

Mstovall:  Yes, the talke about Jesus and even wanted to kill him!!  I think we hardly have it that bad most of the time.

Todd, I couldn't agree more......they mocked and spit on our Lord, are we any better than he?  Yes, it hurts, and Jesus knows that better than we.

Bro Todd: yes, I'm in agreement.......let it goooooooooooooooo. I had a rule in my house when the boys were dating...when a girl would break up with them, I gave them 2 days to boo-who, mourn or whatever......then it's over, done, finished, get on with life........life is too short to continually drown yourself in muck. BTW, that rule worked, they do it with their kids ;)

Cindy:  I should have used that with my mellow dramatic daughter.  Took her like a year and she changed through it and I felt so helpless to help her "get over it" sometimes I think a lot of us like to be miserable, so that others will love on us.

Mike:  We have no idea what Jesus went through.  He was  a man of sorows and aquaited with grief.  He came unto His own and His own recieved Him not.  It does hurt. It smarts a lot especially if it is a close friend.  What do the Proverbs say? "Faithful are the wounds of a friend."  Friends will wound us, but it is part of being close.

Angela & Cheryl:  I am preaching tonight, will y'all please come to Alabama and be my Amen corner?  Angela, saying Amen to a preacher is like saying sick em to a bull dog!  -- I heard that from Tony Campollo years ago.

CinderBarbellyLouWho, I LIKE that rule! One of my boys is about to flunk out of school because of a girl that broke up with him last school year! Thanks for the pointer!

Carol:  I am ashamed to say that I am preaching to myself most of all.  I am just a big baby and I know better!  Just funny sometimes how we let people get the best of us when it ain't nothing but a thing.

Bro Todd I am honored to get such an invitation from a humble man of God as yourself!!! With much sadness I will have to turn it down, on account that it's 3:45 and I'm in Massachusetts! Oh and have a family to take care of!! I will defiantly pray for Gods anointing on your sermon, and for the hearts of the listeners to be sensitive and receptive to Gods voice! Luv ya and thanks for your investment!!!

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT MAN THINKS ABOUT US ONLY WHAT GOD DOES. GOD DIDN'T SAY BEING A CHRISTIAN WOULD BE EASY. HE SAID WE MUST PERSERVERE, WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS IN CHRIST JESUS!

I think we all experience the ridicule, etc. once in a while.  I have been fortunate enough to surround myself with family, friends, and workmates that are Christian, so not much of that stuff makes it's way to me.  I think, too, that Christian maturity helps us deal with snickering behind our backs.  Through my relationship with God, I've learned to pray for my persecutors (isn't that in the Bible somewhere?)...but I didn't always do that.

What bothers me nowadays is the media's mostly negative response to Christianity.  Like a lot of institutions in America, the tendency is to adopt a "separation of church and state" attitude so that "no one is offended".  It's a typical secular way of dealing with things secularists don't comprehend and don't see the potential benefits to the greater society.

But let me get off my soapbox and say thanks, for a great blog, Brother Todd!  Thought provoking to say the least.

Sister:  Thank you!
Caleb:  Yes, we need to accept what the Lord says.
Jan:  Yes, but why is it so hard to believe God and not listen to the junk?  We are over-commers though if we choose to press on and not give in or give up.
Marjay:  I knew you would like this one.  :)
Terry:  Thanks I appreciate your comment.
Ed:  you are fourtunate to be surrounded by loved ones,  butyes there are ways to deal with it all, and growing up in Christ is the bst thing we can do.  Oh yeah Ed...get on the soap box and preach!!  This country is so unfair.  It is free speech and equal opportunity for everyone except us.

Sometimes I gotta cry, Brother Todd.  Is that against the rules?
Brother Todd
September 26, 2008
Joey, no crying is part of the game.  It is staying in the state of self pitty that is against the rules.  Jesus was a man of sorrows and aquainted with grief.  He did His fair share of crying, "Jesus Wept" but we can't sit around and feel sorry for ourselves all of the time, we have to keep going even when it is hard and we feel like crying.  I wrote that blog for myself more than anyone, but the fact remains, when we get down we can't stay down.  Blessed is the man that falls 7 times but gets back up again.
