How convicting this passage is to me, and probably to many others as well. How quickly I forget that it is only by God's Spirit that I can find true joy, peace, fulfillment, and success. I struggle and scheme and try to do things to the best of my abilities, and all the while God is laughing because I am simply too feeble to accomplish anything on my own. When we pause and take time to fellowship with Him and to seek His face and His wisdom, then He will endow us with the power to do things we could NEVER do on our own. Our God is amazing! Praise Him for putting up with sinners like myself and for empowering us with His Spirit to do great and eternal things for His Kingdom!
4:6 Then he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerub'babel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts. |
