SO I got this in a email someone sent me, has anyone else gotten this or heard of it?

Don't pump gas on May 15th

in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.



On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.



There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.



If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take

$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.



If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldnt) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

I don't think a "gas out" would make much difference, it would just mean a one-day surge in pumping either the day before or the day after, or both. :-(   Believe me I wish there was something the consumer could do!  ~mike

 if everone Did not Go To work Due to the High Gas Price. This will work. I heard One of our Radio Hosts say.. but knowing everone can not affored not to miss work. That one day wont do anything... but a week of not work. Im sure that would...

You all are right! Though, if we don't go to work then we won't be able to pay for the gas when we need it and if we strike the pumps the we will just surge the days before or the days after. Face it we have become dependent on fossil fuels just as a baby is on bottle, and at this juncture there is nothing that we can do about it. We just need to re-invent the way we live. Anything we do is going to cost us both now and later and to do nothing is costing us now, yet the concequences get greater later. Kind of like following the wrong master be cause of ignorance. Find a new plan then be and stay blessed!
