I don't feel anything physically. The Holy Spirit communicates with our spirit.... so it's very difficult to explain how this "feels" in a physical sense. I just say, as I fellowship w/God THROUGH the Spirit, it affects my mind, will, and emotions. The Spirit helps me to think right, desire to do what is right, and be joyful in all circumstances. (Joy is one of the "fruits of the Spirit", evidences that the Spirit of God dwells within us, according to Galatians 5:22-23.)

“…For the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23–24)

Thanks for the comments so far.  Mike n Laura, I wasn't so much speaking as a physicalness to it either, but emotional, or spiritual, because God is Spirit, and because it is on the inside, in my heart that I experience this.

I think of it like this...... we all have relationships don't we.  Well, I bet you could think of someone special to you right now and you get a certain feeling.  Then, you could also think of someone right now that you might not like per say, and you would get a whole different feeling.  We feel our relationships, don't we?
One pastor that I highly respect preached on having "up" relationships.  He just meant there needs to be people in your life that lift you, encourage you, and care about you.  You may have some now, and you may have some that bring you way down too.  But imagine spending a week straight with that "up" friend.  Would it change you?  I say yeah, of course it would.  Now think about the Holy Spirit.  He doesn't say He has to go home.  He never leaves us.  And He is definately the ultimate "up" relationship where we are always encouraged by Him.  Read about Him, and see what He gives us.  Look in your heart and see what He is giving you, right now.  He is giving to you right now.  It's so amazing.  The love, the power, the refreshing.  He doesn't stop, He never disobeys God the Father, and He is always there.  I love God. . . . And am so thankful of His Spirit living in us.  The Spirit wants to praise God the Father and Jesus His Son through us.  And we can let Him.  It becomes like ...... the flowing of His will pouring out of us........ I am in awwww!!!!!!! Praise the One and Only King Eternal.  Amen

Now to others that have read this blog and think.....well... I don't actually know what you are thinking.  But if you write a comment then I will.  You don't want me to beg do you?  I hope not, it makes me look stupid, lol.  Please, I don't care what you write, but that you do.  And we can go from there.  Please don't be silent.  Silence speaks all kinds of things that you are probably not thinking, so ...........comment.

Hello Kelley

Spiritual things are Spiritually discerned.   I looked in the mirror one day and freaked out, because I did not know "me".  I was born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit, and immediately received all of the fruits and physical manifestations.  I felt like one hundred million volts of electricity came to reside in my body.  There were times I felt like I could not physically take it.  The Holy Spirit grieves so I do a lot of crying. He separated me from everyone I used to hang out with.  I quit smoking, drinking, taking Prozac, cussing and partying, all at the same time.  I began to read the KJV bible and understood it.  Scriptures began to come to my mind so fast to guide my way and I would just obey it. I would later find these same scriptures  in the bible.  That is why I know the Words in the bible is real and God inspired.   My husband and friends thought I had gone crazy.  "they told me that years later" lol.  I was tested in every aspect of life while in the "wilderness" I literally saw heaven and I saw hell while quite awake.  I will say the Holy Spirit is real and He does everything that Jesus said He would do (read John for confirmation).  I know I will hear more from you, because when you are filled with the Holy Spirit you cannot contain.  You have to shout from the rooftops LOL!.

'Shalom to you my friend

Hi Kelley. We've talked before about this burning Holy Spirit within us, but Mike, I would have to disagree. The Holy Spirit communicates with our spirit, but I feel every bit of that presence physically. It's what I call that burning fire that emminates from deep within. But I feel it in every tingling cell in my body. When I just think about the Holy Spirit within me I feel it growing brighter and activating all my nerve endings. To me that is a physical feeling. It's that "always high" feeling...of being up and never coming back down...my "head's in the clouds", I'm "flying high", "floating on cloud 9", but it also resonantes with the "grounded" feeling. That this is reality and the reality for which so many people are searching. It's a feeling that I can envision my skin bursting apart and extreme light and quiet flows through. Yet it's a feeling of serenity, calmness and control. I like to tell people that I now have control of my life once I gave up control. I gave control to the one who owns control, God. Now I feel anything is possible. Because with God, anything is possible.

A little story to share: One day my daughter was visiting me at work. While I was "working", she was cutting up paper and drawing. After she left I noticed what she was doing. She had taped this piece of paper on my wall by my desk and on it said, "Have faith in reality and all your dreams will come TRUE!!!"

Reality as how I feel it (described above) is in God and yes, have faith in that and all your dreams WILL come true. Whether you know what that dream is or not.

MT, I am thrilled that your experience of the Spirit is so realistic! However, I myself prefer not to lead people to believe that they can expect a physical sensation when the Spirit is present. This can lead to false expectations. People are more inclined to doubt that which they expect to "feel" but don't. I got news, if you believe, the Spirit is there whether "felt" or not. Nevertheless, please don't think I am discounting your experience. Your experience is uniquely yours, and I am not about to judge it. God bless!

I never meant to give the impression that you HAVE to feel something physically for the Holy Spirit to be present. I just meant to disagree with you that even though this is a spiritual communication that it can also be a physical feeling.

You are correct, not all people are going to have the same sensations. I've been a Christian since I was 4 year old (40 years ago), but haven't felt this physical presence of the Holy Spirit until 7 years ago. My life is a prime example of not thinking God is there until later in life when I can look back and realize that the Holy Spirit had been there the whole time.

I also believe that you can be a Christian and have the Holy Spirit work in your life without being "filled with the Holy Spirit". When I became "filled with the Holy Spirit", it came at a time that I spent serious time in meditation with God, asking for repentence, and in His Word and asking what He wanted me to do for Him. It's the time when I let go of myself and completely gave myself to God. It's when I felt just like how ihsallthetime described above. My whole life changed...what I desired to do to fill my time changed...who I desired to spend it with changed...every moment of my days became a question: "What more can I do for you, God?"

And actually, Kelley and Mike...and anyone else reading, thank you for giving me reason to search more about this. I found a website that describes this and I never knew this feeling had a name! I'm so excited to share it. Feel free to check out this website. I thought it was interesting and so much what I've been trying to explain to many people. It's at Bible-Knowledge.com, and the article is about Baptism of the Holy Spirit, which I understand now is different from accepting Jesus as your Saviour and the Holy Spirit entering in. And the article also states that some people may not have a "manifestation" (physical feeling) when the Holy Spirit takes control.

Thanks again for expanding my knowledge. God Bless...

Thats so good!!!!  I left out so much in my first blog and one piece was that I was saved 12 years ago, and now I see like the poem "Footprints" that the Holy Spirit carried me the whole time I was questioning where He was.  But now it is a very different experience.  One like MT is speaking of.  And I have been seeking more than ever.  Did anyone read the text?  Luke 11:9-13.  I see the Holy Spirit coming on people in the Bible at different times.  But it always brings power and a praising attitude.  I am glad we can discuss this subject and not judge each other but just come from our own experiences.  It shows great maturity on everyones part.  Now, going back to the point I just started with, and combining my other blogs to this, I really wish someone had discipled me along time ago to lead me to this understanding, for I feel as though I walked in the wilderness 12 years when it may have taken 12 days.  It's still o.k. though cause now God has revealed this at such a time and I will spend the rest of my days on this earth teaching and mentoring those in my immediate life circle what God has shown me and I look forward to an outpouring of the Spirit like I have only read about in past revivals...........  I just want to SCREAM FOR JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  PRAISE GOD.........

Salvation is individual and not everyone receives the word of God the same way as in the parable of the sower. Jesus also said that that is forgiven much will love much. God is no respecter of persons but I like the verse in Romans 14:5

Romans 14:5 KJV One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

One person will see something one way and another will see it another way. Let every person be fully convinced in his or her own mind. I know my experience was very powerful but I had been the worst of the bunch. I hated the whole world, even God, but now I'm so opposite of what I used to be that people think I was always like this.

I get the same thing, Prophet Jay. Often I hear, "Oh? I thought you were always a strong Christian, from a strong Christian family." But I think that's part of being so filled with the Holy Spirit. You denounce your past life and things that you did that were in opposite of God.

A conversation that I have with many people is one about how to know a Christian. This probably comes out of my study in James, but I feel that when you really are dedicated to Jesus it show in your actions, your choices, and how you treat others. Being a Christian isn't a Sunday activity. It's a way of life!

I pray for the courage to always have God's love show through me, so that others may see how wonderful He is.

Keep screaming from the mountain tops, Kelley. But do remember the compassion that is needed for those who do not feel as we do. My job is to only open the door to others and let God do the work from within.

Goodmorning Kelley

I am reminded more and more that Spiritual things are Spiritually discerned as I stated above.  Only people who are truly filled with the Holy Spirit will know what you are really speaking about.  How can a person be filled with the Holy Spirit of the living God of this Universe and not feel it physically?  One of the ways I discern what is going on around me is to sense it in my five physical senses.  My physical senses were Heightened many more times when I received the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  How are we to cast out demons if we cannot discern what demons we are casting out?  How can we help someone in pain if we cannot discern where the pain is coming from and what is causing it?  Virtue left Jesus and healed the sick.  What is virtue?  I believe it is 100% love and compassion, which caused Jesus to feel the person's pain.  Most people stop at the door.  Many things in the scriptures are only experienced through the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The Spiritual World is different than the natural world.  God is Spirit.  If His Holy Spirit takes up residence in a human being, that person will know it immediately.  The individual who has the Holy Spirit in him will begin for feel the very essence and presence of the Living God.  God gave us humans senses for a reason.  It is to make us aware of several things.  One is to discern when trouble is around so that we can move away from it.  I  have realized that many people do not believe that the five signs will follow those who believe and are baptized (in the Holy Spirit).   Each one of us have a choice, we can either do as recommended by Jesus or not.  Many I believe are scared to step out on a limb.  It is the Holy Spirit in the individual to activate the written Word., in and through us.  How did Paul know that the girl was demon possessed?  He probably saw and felt the demon who was speaking through this girl.  He spoke to the demon and told it to leave the girl. I hear people saying that they were saved but not filled with the Holy Spirit or they had the Holy Spirit in them and did not realize it.  The scriptures teaches us that new wine cannot be put in old vessels, they will bust.  That is why Jesus teaches we must be born-again to enter into the Kingdom of heaven.   How can one be saved and lost (living in sin) at the same time?  The job of the Holy Spirit is to help us live the perfect and Holy life, so that the Kingdom of heaven can come on earth and the the will of our heavenly Father can also be done on earth, as it is in heaven, in our lives.  That is why the scriptures tells us that if we sin WILFULLY after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins. Hebrews chapter 10.  One of the ways the Holy Spirit tries to keep us from sin is to separate us from previous companions and things that will bring about desires to sin.  After we receive the Holy Spirit if we decide to continue in sin, then that will be deliberate.  How can we say that we have the Holy Spirit in us and continue to sin?

What is sin?  Not  Loving God with our hearts, minds and souls, and not loving our neighbors as ourselves.  Well we cannot love God or another human being they way we are commanded, unless we are filled with the Holy Spirit.  My final though is The Holy Spirit comes into the believers life to assist them in living the way the creator always wanted them to live.  I pray that I am not redundant.  Blessing to all who decide go further in their Spiritual journey.
Shalom to all my friends

Hi All,
When I think of the Holy Spirit in me....I think of one constant in my life, the one that never let's me down, the one that knows me and guides me.  Sometimes it's a feeling of Joy and sometimes it gives me the control I need when my flesh wants to get engaged. The Holy Spirit is my link to the Father God, HE wants us to go to him with all our decisions.  That in itself can be a difficult task, since we are human and our flesh is fighting for control, but it is so important.  I believe the more we seek after him with all our needs, the more mature we start to become in our walk.  His ways are not our ways.  The Holy Spirit gives us the power to do what is right in a situation.  Right accourding to God.  We need to trust that God is going to supply all our needs.
His word says: "Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."  Matt 11:28-30    Do you know why it's light?  Because he was teaching that the law(the do's and don'ts) was heavy and he wanted us to take on his yoke wich was easy.  He didn't want us to beat ourselves up when we did something wrong,  but He wants us to come to him, like in Luke (Ask, seek, knock)  He wants us to Trust in Him.  Trust that he is in control of the situation, that He is going to guide us with his Holy Spirit in us.  It truely is a gift from Heaven!!!  I praise God that he has Seeked me out of my Hell to live with me and in me...  Kelley thanks for your questions, it really gets ya thinking...You are such a blessing to me.      ~Stacey
