Beyond the clouds the sky is blue. As we took off on our flight, the rain came down, the sky was overcast and the day was dreary. As soon as our plane got up above the clouds and the storm, it was a clear blue sky, with beautiful sunshine.
Each new day begins and ends, the sun rises and sets whether we see it or not. We may think the day is dreary when the sky is gray, and life is a lot like that. Yet just beyond the grayness is the sun. We don't know how close it is, but we do know it is there.
1:9 What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; and there is nothing new under the sun. There is nothing new under the sun. Each day passes in the same way. There may be events that happen to us that we experience for the first time, but those experiences have already happened to someone else. Someone, somewhere has experienced what we go through, in one way or another.
So what is the purpose of going through this thing called life? If it's been done, why do we have to go through it?
2:24 There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God; 2:25 for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? Without God, who can eat or find enjoyment? Why go through it, if we are not serving God? And all those experiences that we go through, if we know someone who has gone through it already, can we find help and encouragement and hope from them and their experiences? Shouldn't we serve God by sharing our experiences with others in similar situations? Shouldn't we attempt to help, encourage, and offer hope? And at the height of that, should we not share our reason for being with those who don't know Him?
So, our purpose is to serve God, by encouraging, helping, and offering hope to others, and sharing our faith with those who have none. This life has no purpose other than that. It is what we are here for, and what God expects of us. |

| The entire blog is great! Your statement, "So, our purpose is to serve God, by encouraging, helping, and offering hope to others, and sharing our faith with those who have none. This life has no purpose other than that.", sums up our "reason" for being here just right!!! |

| Yahschild, it does sum up our reason for living, it is what our focus should be if we can put away the cares of this life. |
