Brother,

I was watching the Gather family the other day at my moms nursing home and commented that I love to hear the deep bass singers. This is great.

To answer your question, yes there are some Christians still in bondage. One of the main reasons I have found it to be so is that they don't believe God can use them because of their flaws. We must do a better job of teaching that he can and do as the scripture says on this blog page. Build one another up.

Yes Evangelist! I have spoken to many many people that claim to be Christians and live in fear and torment, anger and hatred, and speaking and living like children of the devil. Many live in unbelief and deny that the power of God is able to free them. We can preach until we are blue in the face but if people choose the lie over the truth then they will remain in bondage.

Luvs the song! I do say Amen to what Jay said, but I also think if we preach by our life, and love them like Christ loves them. Many more would be freed from bondage! God's people need to stand up, get dirty with others pain and torment, so we can be the light that leads them out of their darkness!!! Great post!

Ok, had to sing this with him, lol.......and in my head I was playing it on the piano too! I do love spirituals!!!!! one of my favorites to play on the piano is "Wayfarin' Stranger".......i just feel this music in my bones!!!!!
I think at some point, we as christians have all been in bondage.....some do not seem to come out of it though. And that's where it's our place to help them :)

Oh yeah!  That was beautiful!  I'll definitely have to put it on our choir list -- sometimes tough to find someone who can go that low in bass.  But God will find a way.

Evang. Keith, I love the phrase you've coined, "WE MUST TEACH TO REACH EACH"! Right on target once again.

Jerry, if there was more building each other up rather than envious tearing each other down, think how much farther we would all be as Churches and Christians in accomplishing The Great Commission.

Doyle, I'm with you -- but we still must reach out to those who need the loving touch of Our Saviour.

Prophet Jay, I know how frustrating it is; I feel your pain.  I'm finding that many of the people you speak of are right there in the House of God, many holding leadership positions!  How can this be?  Then, when someone sees a problem and offers suggestions to rectify the situation they are treated as an outcast; no one has any "acceptable" or "good" suggestion except those in the certain clique.  Talk about frustrating!  This causes the entire Church to be in bondage to a certain extent.  Has anyone noticed or faced this situation?  Am I causing the blog to get off-subject again?  This is bondage...isn't it?

Angela, maybe you have the answer to it all.  Jesus set the example, He certainly is The Light.  There are not enough so-called Christians willing to get out in the streets, talk to druggies, go to the hospitals and visit those in the last stages of HIV, etc.  They are all high and mighty Christians and do so much for the Church, but don't want anyone to talk to our Youth about sex, drugs, and HIV!  Do they really think that by putting their heads in the sand about these topics that their kids won't hear about it at school, on the bus, or on TV at home?!

Thank you to everyone for excellent feedback, as always.  A special thank you to Evangelist Keith for yet another wonderful blog -- set to music this time!

Peace and Blessings to all,

Deb  (Clearwater)

One of the devils most useful tools is to keep Christians thinking that their bondage to sin is something that can never be defeated.  The bible commands us to be holy because God is holy.  It doesn't say "get as close as you can".....We can have victory over besetting sins.  We must confess and believe that God forgives.  And then seek Gods face for healing.  Oh Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever!
