Steph and the kids left on Wednesday and won't be home until Monday. Four days on my own. There is something sort of fun about that! I can eat what I want, when I want, where I want. I can break all the house rules. I can walk around the house in my underwear. I can get a lot of work done on my projects without interruptions. I can leave dirty dishes laying all over the kitchen and throw my dirty clothes on the floor. I CAN EVEN LEAVE THE LID UP!
OK, by Friday morning, I was lonely. The house is too quiet. Things stay where I put them!!!! Yes, I am getting tons of stuff done. My remodeling project is nearing completion. I rode 78 miles on my bike. I got the pool open. (The kids don't know and it is a surprise for them! Of course the water is 58 Degrees!!), but I am finding myself talking to the animals.
How do people who live alone do it? I think of my mother-in-law, who has been recently widowed. How much more does the loneliness add to the grief? All the divorced people also come to mind. How many people are there in our church that Sunday Worship is the major social event of the week?
It is no joke that God made us to be in relationships!
Here's Looking forward to Monday. |
