| Pope Says "Revitalize" The Church |
|
| |
Pope Benedict XVI spoke in Austria about a year ago, urging Westerners to rediscover Christianity and to revitalize the Church. He said: Christianity is: “more than a moral code. It is a way of life, of family and relationship to society. It contains within itself great moral strength which is so urgently needed today on account of the challenges of our times.”
I also believe that much of Christianity has been lost and allowedd to die. Christianity has become creeds rather than deeds, ritual rather than a personal relationship with God, passive rather than active, entertaining (or boring) rather than challenging, unemotional rather than passionate, meeting focused rather than focused on serving others, dominated by men’s names and personalities rather than led by the Spirit, shaped by our society rather than transforming our society.
Would you like to rediscover Christianity? Read the New Testament book of Acts. It gives the history of the earliest Christians. Their Christianity was amazing! Why should we settle for anything less than what they did and what they experienced? I agree with the Pope on this one! Let’s revitalize Christianity in the Western world! |

| Folks, there are a lot of good churches out there. And many of them have their meetings, and their concert-like worship atmostphere, or their pipe organs, their golden offering plates, creeds, sermons from the pulpit, etc. The problem isn't format, it's the heart! People with a true heart of worship are passionate people! They put their heart into everything they do, and it shows! If the heart has gone out of the church, then of course the church will appear to be nothing more than cold ritual, just going through the motions. It's a matter of heart! |

| "Revitalize", or "revival", our Pastor would ask you want a revival? Draw a circle around you on the ground, and stay in it till revival breaks out ! |

| I think, if you wish to use the word revival, personally I dont acknowledge it; begins a person at a time instead of a group. Its not about emotions or passion. It is about the Lord truly living in us. and through us. |
