The definition of meditation is as follows:   

1. To reflect on; contemplate.
2. To plan in the mind; intend: meditated a visit to her daughter.

1. 1. Buddhism & Hinduism To train, calm, or empty the mind, often by achieving an altered state, as by focusing on a single object.
   2. To engage in devotional contemplation, especially prayer.
2. To think or reflect, especially in a calm and deliberate manner.

For a believer in the I Am, and His son Immanuel, God with us, it is more than this definition states. It is reflecting upon God's wondrous works, it is an intentional act designed to help us walk in closer relationship with the Lord of the Universe.  Which for some is a very difficult concept to grasp, that the Lord of all creation could and does want relationship with each one of us personally.

      I do not claim to know just why this is so. I only know that when I found Jesus as Lord of my Life, I came to know this person, and it became relationship. Out of his blood bought restoration, I then could be called the adopted daughter of the most High God. Which is what you are called  an adopted son or daughter ,if you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior. It is just grace, not what any of us deserve. So began the relationship wanting to know all I could about my God, my Abba(Daddy), my Friend, my Lord. Just how is that accomplished? Well I have found that meditation, and contemplation on God's Word, and revelation by His Holy Spirit, has brought me into relationship and action. Out of what I have learned about my Heavenly Father, I have learned to understand the ways of His precepts. I have learned of His wonderous works, which he repeats for all that choose to believe and come into relationship. In that relationship I come to want to show my love for Him by doing that which He teaches me to do. I want to flow in His love, less of me, more of Him daily. To that end I meditate, have I perfected the understanding of God and His precepts, by no means . I just try daily to come to a closer understanding of what God would have me do, I can do no less because He has done so much for me. 

       Would you join me? Just take a few moments throughout the day and make relationship with the Lord your priority? Come into His presence, meditating upon His Word.Contimplating what that word means to you in your daily existance. Then acting upon what the Holy Spirit Reveals to you you will grow into knowing God's heart. I think if you do,or if you continue in doing this if you already are, you will find yourself in an intimacy with God that you have yet to experience. Out of this intimacy you will become a person who is empowered to love, He will strengthen you, help to fulfill the call that has been placed on your life. God will help you testify, and point others to Jesus, God will give you the words if you meditate on the Word.
