| Do all animals go to Heaven? |
|
| |
I know many people would say that the bible says nothing about animals going to Heaven. And it is true that I have never found anything to support it. Animals do not have souls, so therefore they cannot go to Heaven.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love my cats. Since I have no children, I consider them my "kids". Now, I know that I can't even fathom the love I would have for a child, and cannot compare it to these animals, but I do love them, a lot! I have hope that either they will be in Heaven with me, or God will wipe out all memory of animals in general, and especially of my cats. I do believe that there will be no tears in Heaven, no sorrow, so therefore, either animals will be there, or I won't remember them.
But, I also think that God created animals, and likes them...and although they may have no souls, couldn't that mean that they get to bypass that part that we humans have to deal with, in accepting Jesus as their Savior? Since they are not able to reason or even to think about accepting God, couldn't that mean they are accepted already? Perhaps their presence in Heaven is a given?
I think the main thing to remember here is that no one knows exactly what Heaven will be like. We are given little snippets in the bible of the possibilities, but we cannot fathom what it will really be like. Only God knows, and I say that "With God, all things are possible". My cats might be there with me. It isn't impossible! |

I have heard that animals have no souls, but I don't happen to agree with it! My animals definitely have a soul! |

| Hi Deb! Because all we know of life is this one, we tend of think of heaven as where we go when life is over. But in reality, it's where we go when life begins. Although you are right that we can only imagine what life in heaven will be like, we know that our earthly life really can't even be compared to it. Living in the presence of Almighty God for all of eternity, we will have no desire to remember anything about our short earthly lives, anymore than we now care about remembering what it was like living in the womb. That was for only a short while, we don't remember anything about it, and life then really has no compairson to life now, except that it got us to this life. The comforts and joys we had in the womb we do not long for now. Living in God's presence will be the most perfect place any of us can possibly imagine, multiplied many times over. Aninmals? I can't say for sure, but I am certain that God's plan for all His creation is far better than any plan our human minds can fathom. Enjoy his little creatures, Deb, and God bless you! |

I think Kathy makes a good point that bears repeating. I wonder similarly about how I can enjoy eternity knowing that some of my family members are suffering in 'outer darkness'. I think she is right - we will be so filled with awe and thanksgiving that we won't miss those earthly relationships that God, in His power, sees fit to leave out of our eternal existence. |

I've never thought about being in Heaven and remembering our time here on earth, as compared to our being on earth and remembering our time in the womb. That is a great way of describing things! And I agree, our minds cannot fathom what God has in store for us in Heaven!
