Whats this mean?

not sure what this verse is saying. we shouldn't tell each other we love each other?

any suggestions? its a topic opean for discussion. 

 

3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth.

it's pretty much saying don't just say you love god, but show that you love him too

like if you say I luv you to someone.
instead show you love them physically  ex./ hug, kiss, do something really nice for em :)

i think that means like people can say they love you all they want, but if they show you there love for you then it is true love ,but if they just say it, it may mean death for your friendship
