| | | My friends, get ready for a challenging and fun convocation here at Roberts Tabernacle, nearby Clarence Palmer Park and the community. Convocation in its Latin root means "calling together." To translate the Greek, it is literally "calling together the ecclesia," or body of believers. We are calling you saints to join us on October 17, 18 and 19, 2008 for a full weekend of evangelistic work and praising his holy name. A few weeks ago a group of concerned residents got together and decided we would go on the offensive in our community. The area is under attack from Satan, but he stands no chance when we are on one accord. This event was born from that first meeting. We will kick off the weekend with a youth lock-in at the church beginning Friday the 17th at 10:00pm. We will have all sorts of activities planned but the main focus is our Rap-session with our youth. All between ages 13-18 are invited to come and share openly some of the issues they are facing. Evangelist Keith Wilson and his family will be our special guest and conduct this session. He has also graciously agreed to introduce the kids to a mentoring program he has founded. That same night we invite all young adults, ages 18-35 to join us. We are most concerned about your views on issues that are relevant in your lives. Let's talk about dating, intimacy, single parenthood, education, employment and relationships as they pertain to living a good christian life. Pastor Webb is also interested in your opinion as why so many of you are leaving the church! What can we do better? On Saturday, beginning at noon, we partner with the city of Shelby and the community and hold our second outdoor festival. There will be music, food and fun but also a challenge to get more involved in the life of our neighborhood. That Sunday, Roberts will hold its service in the park. Evangelist Keith Wilson will bring the word that morning beginning at 11:00am. So my brothers and sisters, get the word out. We look forward to seeing all of you there. If you cannot be with us, pray for us. That his will be done in the life of our youth and young adult, our community and our church. |

Remarkable, Doyle- Thank you for standing with us in prayer. Pastor Jerry and our family have teamed up to stand for a generation that needs People to stand and help them instead of condemn them. He and i both agree that if something is going to be done for the youth in our communities it's going to take a joint effort from the body of Christ.

| Father I come before you with a grateful heart for all your doing. I asked that this event would be anointed and blessed for your glory. I pray that the words spoken would be your words. As a result you would change the hearts and transform the lives of our young people. I pray for traveling mercies for all those who will be traveling to this event. Give GOD Glory, Give GOD Praise, Give GOD Honor......I pray asking the LORD to breathe upon you and this ministry as it goes forth to minister to our youth.......I pray that it would have such tremendous power, with signs, and miracles following that souls would be saved and lives transformed forever. May the Spirit of GOD cause a ripple effect from this ministry that would take place throughout the whole world. We love our children, and GOD loves our children....Jesus said rebuke them not, but bid them to come unto me......in this day our children are the ones who are heavily ladened and casted down with many burdens. Father GOD send us a revival, throughout the land in Jesus Name, Amen! |

Brothers and sisters we so appreciate the words of prayer. The church, Evangelist Keith and I, and the community leaders, have been praying that the very ground we tread on is annointed so that each day one simply walks by the church, comes through this community and park, they feel the presence of our most powerful God and there is healing, peace and revelation. I believe with every fiber of my soul that the church and community can do great things in his name. Continue to join us as we lift him up, for he will do all the drawing. That is good news my friends. There are not many nights that I do not hear gun shots ring out but I want the devil to know that we will make a joyful noise in the Lord. The enemy may do his things at night, but the word says "let God arise and the enemy be what?" Scattered!!! If you could see the beauty of this area and watch the babies, including my children play near us, it is the picture of Gods love with nature. It is not natural that hell raisers be a part of that! Evangelist, let's put on the full armour of God and go to work. |

You know I'm praying for great and miraculous things to happen in Jesus' Name! As the time draws closer, I can sense the anticipation almost as if I'm packing my bags to meet you there. Oh, how I wish that were true!
Brother Jerry, you're right...Shelby is beautiful, particularly this time of year. I suspect the leaves are just beginning to change into their Autumn splendor. What a perfect time to have a roof-raising, ground-breaking weekend of calling the Saints together, praising God such that the enemy will have no choice but to leave your wonderful area for good!
The weather will be perfect, just like Our Father, bringing the youth and young people out in force. Advertise! Call on the radio stations, local news stations, schools, colleges, other churches, local hang-outs to get the word out!! Most of the cable networks have a local channel where you can post advertisements for FREE!! Do it! How about local newspapers? Many times they will not charge Churches for small articles--the deadline will be close--act fast. Make it a challenge--"Every one bring one!!" I'm sure you've already done all this -- just thinking out loud. Oooh! How I wish I could be there physically! Rest assured I'll be there with you all spiritually!
Enough of my babbling...I'm going to pray now.
