Tonight I desire to share what I know about Jesus' love and care for us. I know why he sacrificed his life for us. I know why he left his throne in glory to give to us redemption’s story. It's quite simple; Jesus did what he did because doing God’s will proved his sonship unto glory. Jesus was faithful to serve the will of the Lord so that you and I might know that we too can achieve the apex of born again.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. He was born in iniquity but iniquity did not dictate his life's choice. When Jesus was moments away from the kiss of death he contemplated reason however the contemplation of being spared the cup did not thwart his confidence in doing God's will.
There was something larger at stake. The Bible says, For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Jesus was manifested and he is the Son of God but if he had not said nevertheless God’s will be done, we who are children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ would not be. There would be no purpose in suffering with him to be glorified together with him and nothing worthy would be revealed in us other than the results of his selfishness.
What I am essentially saying is this: had Jesus chose the love of his own life there would be no apex or zenith for us to strive toward.
Now I must ask this question, “What would God have done if in Gethsemane, Jesus not hearing a word from Him, had chosen this life as a wife?” All I can say is thank God Jesus understood the value of his stock and thank the Lord God he knew his lineage and DNA. Thank the Lord for choosing the most virtuous girl, Mary and thank the Lord for Joseph. Together, the father and his mother kept the Son of God in the scriptures and the Temple. Jesus loved to read and be there in the Temple. “And he (Jesus) said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?” “And he (Jesus) came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.”
My point: Jesus’ thinking, emotions, decisions, actions, habits and character were squarely lined up with the Word "of" and "from" God. All things pertaining to God in him: anointing, words, understanding and meaning were intact before the foundation of the world, before his mother’s womb and from the beginning of the world. He had good examples from heaven to earth. Together they trained him up in the way of righteousness so that when the day of Gethsemane was before him he would not depart!
My love, let me say this, Jesus wasn’t trying to be absent from the Father. Being a Fatherless child was not an option no matter what reason suggested. Jesus said, I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Now when you think about the heritage of the Lord, the fruit of the womb and his reward what do you think?
Spiritually speaking, we were never meant to be bastards. A mind that is chaste unto the Lord’s will is His dwelling place. The Bible says, “If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?”
Ladies, “If we endure chastening, God dealeth with us as with daughters; for what daughter is she whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not daughters. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?”
The inner chastening is where the battle is won. Jesus did not hear from Father God when his mind was vexed with sorrow even unto death and he fell on his face and prayed saying three times, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:-- but there was the foreknowledge of what had already been said which caused him to chastise reason and correct himself with God’s will, -- …nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Darling, I will close with my final thoughts:
Gethsemane is oh so different from the wilderness experience where our Brother was tempted by the Devil 40 days and 40 nights. The time frame of exposure to temptation is significantly less at Gethsemane. The suggestions of the mind at Gethesemane were motivated by selfish reasoning. Jesus was dealing with fear, not an ulterior motive, fear is a real emotion; whereas the fiery darts of the enemy in the wilderness were spurred by the Devil’s selfish intent, to destroy the workmanship of the Lord. As fearless as Jesus is -- when he lived in this earth Gethsemane showed us a Jesus who had to combat fear. Selah.
Listen Sugar, God's virtue in dark times will bring you out! But without full obedience and submission to His will your manifestation as a son or daughter is in danger. The real is you might always be a child never a bride because you are not willing to live wholly His will; withstanding the temptation and reasoning of the mind and the pressure it applies to the flesh. Being a child in the kingdom on earth ain’t a bad status and I don’t believe God will put more on you than He knows you can bare let alone withstand (smile). Our Father is a no pressure God, if you do in complete faith His will the Bible says “that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in you.” If you go cherry picking His will then you have already made clear your status, child.
Don’t get deeper than God’s word presented here this day. The Holy Ghost is not dissing what Jesus said about suffering little children. And if you went there you have just proven your status. This is about reaching the pinnacle, summit and height of being born again. It is here that the more excellent ministry is birthed.
